I don’t understand why Nelson’s goal was ruled out. Even if Hasal got his hand on the ball first, he did not have control of it, so it should be fair game. Terrible call.
Under the laws of the game, a goalkeeper touching the ball with his hand is deemed to have control. It's in the section on indirect free kicks if you want to look it up. I think Nelson did get his foot to the ball a split second before Hasal, so I'd say the ref got it wrong. But it was very close, and I can't find a single frame of video from any angle that clearly shows Nelson got there first. The way the VAR rule is written, the referee's initial call stands.
How is Michael Bradley still playing? Everytime I watch TFC highlights I see him putting in half assed defensive effort, slowly jogging back, not applying pressure, and he always leaves wide open passing lanes. As a result, TFC keeps getting scored on.
This was the first MLS game I attended in person. I'm visible at 1:11 wearing the white hoodie with black text and the leafs hat in the first row. I'm directly below the third 0 where it says 30:00 on the scoreboard. Gotta say as a TFC fan this match was frustrating. The reds got a lot of good looks and I genuinely think we were robbed of a goal. Oh well. GG Vancouver.
Wow. I'm not a fan of either of these teams but man i feel like TFC got robbed. As a goalie I always like to see goalies protected but I really don't think Hasal had a hand on that ball before Nelson got a tap too it. I've been there, sucks to make 2 saves and give up the third but that's exactly what happened. Tough break for TFC
Michael Bradley ……again…time and time again this guy gets the nod and cannot do what he did so many years ago. Is tfc that desperate? Retire bro. Your game is hurting your team.
this was toronto's game to win. 1) the dude that shot the pen for toronto should never shoot a pen again & 2) nelson's goal should've counted. it definitely would've counted in any of the real leagues in europe.. just saying.
@@dtrain9911 no it was offside and that ref blew the game... that goal should of been a goal it wasn't ... in all Fairness Ref Blew a call on the goal moments Later Cavalini or w.e his name is should of had a red then instead of a yellow..
absolutely agree. The TFC should have counted. The goalie did not have it under control let alone his whole hand on the ball. The white caps goal was CLEARLY offsides. Terrible calls by the ref. I don't know why the hell VAR did not step in and say someting
Listen caps fan you all should celebrate that Toronto FC lost alright. They don't deserve that goal and they should not even win it bc they won't head to the playoffs regardless of that game. It's over so VAR made the right decision and sustained their decision good play MLS. The spirit has attached bad luck on this team winning trophies. Toronto FC is over and ass until the next decade.
@Major League Soccer Come on guys. You have the technology. Show a freeze frame of the disallowed TFC goal to put the argument to rest. If the keeper had even a finger on the ball, pinning it to the ground, for even a split second, it is considered control and no goal. But we can't tell on this RU-vid video. DO BETTER!
Put it to 0.25 speed. Not only does he not have a single finger on the ball, he's reaching towards the ball so even if he touches it, the ball is not in his possession. Just a brutal call.
@@ericahn1627 - No, I'm referring to how stupid the official name of Toronto's soccer team is, that supporters might as well give Maple Leafs as an UNOFFICIAL team name!
I was there. Probably 3/4 full. Announced attendance was near 18,000. I’d say it’s fairly accurate. People tend not to sit low at BC Place because it’s not expensive and the view is actually better from midway up the bowl.
