Wales have raised from its ashes like Phoenix on this world cup. Gatland and boys did a great job.💪👍 Georgia is so close to be a Tier1 level team. Hiring top level coaching staff, Black lion franchise on Challenge cup, and better selection of players will put them on a higher level of performance for sure. Even now if Georgia had better scrum and line outs they could compete for qualifying. Hope the future is bright for them. Good luck to Wales 🏴 Georgian fan here.
noone including me gave wales a chance of winning this group , yet Gatland and this young squad have proved they can play some great rugby. well done lads youve done us proud.
@@timphillips9954 could you give me some pointers. Or are you just talking a load of shit. Do I just Google common things between Georgia and Wales. Lol.
Just rewatched the match in its entirety last night. In the first place, gotta show some love to the Georgians who came to play and showed some flashes of excellence, particularly in the second half. But how about those Welshmen!? With some surprise injuries, bench players, and coming into the tournament in frankly terrible form, they dug deep and did what they needed to dominate their pool! The future in Wales looks bright with guys like Jac Morgan and Louis R-Z in place to build around. Sam Costelow needs to tighten up his kicking game, but showed the cool under pressure, vision, awareness, and execution he'll need to take over the reins from Biggar and Anscombe in the coming years. Cymru am byth!
Win for Wales, and bonus point, topped the pool .19 out of 20 ,not the best game for Wales and giving away 3 trys .but move on and need to up it for next week and even more if They make the semi finals.
Very impressed by the Georgians, they put up some really bruising challenges and for periods were bossing the Welsh forwards around. Couple of bad decisions went against them, but they can feel proud of their players here. With the right top-flight coaching Georgia could be really good.
@@Anamalainnswings and roundabouts, most fans only perceive the unfair decisions against the team they are invested in but never perceive the unfair decisions that are adjudicated in their favour. Long story short, refs are pros, and they’re human, errors are made but all balance out either within a half, a match or a tournament. So no.
Georgia should be included in a New 8 nations tournament with Portugal. The 2 first of 2 groups would meet for a final and the 2 last would meet to stay in Tournament A. The loser would meet the first of Tounament B (ex: Spain). Who agree with this ?
Wales have become a very clinical team because they've learned to score in multiple ways. In the past they probably haven't had that and they've been a bit blunt. I fully expect and back Wales to progress to the semis and I think they'll cause Ireland serious problems. Also loving what Georgia are doing. It's been very under reported that were were fielding a lot of 2nd string players and they still showed 100% commitment and determination. Italy should play them in a 3 match series and see who comes out best.
Ireland have a poor record in RWC against Wales. However they were fab against Scotland. Farrell has worked wonders in just a few years. They played a combo of union and league moves against Scotland. At times mesmerising. Wales are unlikely to get near them.
Imo georgia are a good gutsy team with dollops of passion and they and portugal should be included into the SIX nations making it a EIGHT nations. Come now IRB give these two teams a chance it will only be good for the game we all love.
The 6 nations is nothing to do with the IRB or World rugby as it has been for the last 10 years. Its a competition organised and run by the partaking teams, Only by unanimous decision could any team join. So Why would they vote for that. Also 8 teams is way too many, and before you suggest 2 pools of 4 that's a non starter either because you would leave out an annual big game eg Wales v England not happening in a 6 nations would be financial suicide. The pro game is already in financial trouble.
No surprise at the Results give credit to Georgia Played well whole World Cup they played really well LRZ on fire and I hope everyone enjoyed the appetizer. a starter is the England vs Samoa and the main course is Ireland vs Scotland
Yeah, we're shit!! All we do is get lucky and score tries that shouldn't have been given!! Or better still, dis-credit how our tries are scored!! (I hope you got the sarcasm lol)
Wales, as per normal showing how to play rugby by running around players and not trying to run through them. Well impressed with third up No 10 in such a key position.. Georgia, are not an easy side to play by any means. Australia won by 35. 15. Fiji by only 17. 12 so Wales confirm comfortably that they are worthy winners of Group C and now face Japan or Argentina next Saturday. Best chance ever of getting into the semis. I think Fiji will find it too hard against an untested England. Fiji, like Wales, have had some really tough games whereas England's greatest risk is that they're undercooked. Imo. I'm not betting on it anyway.
Lmao and they say the English are arrogant. "As per normal" - In the Wales Fiji game Wales should have had at least 2 - 3 yellow cards from the 20 penalties 9 of which was on their own try line. On the flip after ENG vs SAM, I think England will Struggle against Fiji and Wales will walk into a semi final. Unfortunately neither Wales or England are winning the final, different class of opposition in the other groups. To say England were untested however the Argentina game 14 vs 15 for 78 minutes is a test...
@@MiniMatthew Congratz on not saying anything to prove him wrong. Just a bunch of waffle. You critisised the "as per normal" and then didn't say anything to oppose it 😆
@@MiniMatthewI agree about the step up in terms of class in the semis, but you seem very invested in the ref one sided narrative. Please observe both sides.
On the strength of this world cup, they should find a way of getting the Georgians and the Portuguese into European club competition's. I thought Portugals attacking play was great to watch.
Wales are such a dark horse for this tournament they got a great draw and could end up in a final playing good teams ireland Wales semi final could be great
Zammits 2nd try changed the game , Georgia had fought they're way back into contention and at that point although we were 5 points up the game was still in the balance , the Georgia captain questioned the pass that set up Zammit saying it was forward , the ref told him no it was flat ( as stated / told to him by the linesman) at that point the ref should have stopped the game before the conversion and asked the TMO if there was any reason he could not award the try , the video evidence above would have shown that the pass was clearly forward and Georgia should have been awarded the put in at a scrum 6 metres into our half . North passed the ball on the 44 metre mark the linesman at that moment was a yard in from of him with a perfect view of the pass , when Zammit catches the ball the linesman hasn't moved and Zammit is now 2 metres in front of him on the 47 metre mark indicating a clear forward pass ( 3 metres) , the Georgia captain was right to question the ref , games are won by small margins / big decisions , this was clearly a big decision and the ref got it wrong. I will settle for the win , but it still amazes me why all tries are not reviewed no matter how clear cut they appear to the on pitch officials in real time .
As a Welshman I agree it was forward and I called it too during the match - I wasn’t that impressed by wales during that match truth be told 👍🏻🍻🏴🥃
For what pointing out the the linesman and the ref messed up ! , we ie Wales have a habit of these mistakes benefiting us so no one cares , but wait until were on the receiving end
Poor boy. If he goes full gas he's always worried about the repercussions; hamstrings etc. As he ages his body will become more specific to the demands. I'm Welsh and have friends in England that love his pure pace. As a thing in sport. Mark Cavendish had it in cycling; for a decade where he simply was the fastest in a fair race. Rees Lightening is something we should all enjoy.
Like watching a different tournament when you see Ireland, NZ, France and SA. But definitely playing with spirit and I'd back Wales against either Argentina or Japan.
Can we stop having random women in punditry positions and go back to ex players breaking the game down? Punditry should be done by top level ex players who can show us all a level of nuance that we couldn't see ourselves. It shouldn't be about having someone there because they're a woman to tick some diversity box.
‘Random’ women being former internationals. ‘Top level players’ being the chronically boring and frankly odd Jonny Wilkinson, or bordering on senile Clive Woodward or perpetually pissed Stuart Barnes or Jeremy Guscott I assume? Or perhaps we can have Shane Williams and ‘Alfie’, bringing bugger all insight and just stupefying cliches. The issue isn’t gender. The issue is quality. And ITV obviously - baffles me why they secure the rights to this given their interest and exposure to rugby is limited to this single event every 4 years. Lazy. Complacent. Tired. Crap. Like the England rugby team in a way.
@@leeniblett18 I don't know what point you're trying to make. These women are not ex top level players if they used to play women's rugby. I know plenty of men who have played at the same level as what women internationals play at, to pretend they play the same game is embarrassing. And just because you can name pundits that you don't like doesn't mean the solution is to draft in random women. I'm all for increasing the quality of rugby punditry but I don't see how shoving women into positions they don't deserve is going to do that. If sport is a meritocracy then so sport punditry should be also.
Rugby Rankings - Wales 18 wins in a row - one day as world number one. Also World rugby rankings - Ireland 17 wins a row - Four months as World number one. And no, beating New Zealand shouldn’t give you more prestige than winning an actual tournament.
Competition for 1st was a lot tighter in 2019 than it is now, 5 or 6 sides were nearly tied for pts. in the August/September of that year. It's a lot more settled rn, Ireland and France leading the pack with nobody else getting anywhere near their tallies of 29 wins in 31 and 27 wins in 29 games respectively..
The Georgian halfback kicked away two opportunities for Wales tries at 7:30 and 8:45, and also a poor pass from a centre at 3:38. This could have been a very close game with Wales taking the edge of the knot, or Georgia by an inch. Georgia's mistakes cost their own game but they put in a very strong performance against a young team. The Georgians have a reputation for upsetting the giants, and they have done so very closely at this World Cup. Surely, they will surprise us sooner than later. Maybe they should hire a Kiwi coach? Well done Wales, what an amazing transformation.
7:50 The lineman remains still in the position where the pass is born, even a little forward and the pass ends up much further in front of his position. Clear pass forward in favor of Great Britain when the Georgians threatened to win the match. That try ends up completely tilting the game.
Well done Wales, congratulations. Just an observation though, I’m sure some of the passes would have been called as forwards on another day? Somehow there needs to be more uniformity in this, how about some giro type thing in the ball? Nowadays such small margins affect the results so much eg the Samoan disallowed try for a very slight knock on, and one wrong decision could mean losing or winning.
The Georgian team needs to change the coach because the boys run well And the strategy was a sham because the numbers 13 14 15 pierced the Georgian flags so the coach needs to be changed And the boys themselves are great
It's plain as day: give Georgia a lot more game time against 6N and RC sides asap and within a very short time they'll know how to evolve and improve their tactics against Tier 1 Nations!
@@GwladYrHaf Haha, tbh I'm just scarred from previous losses as an England fan still! Just gave the Georgian a look when he scored, thought it was unnecessary
Not a good performance by Wales well done Georgia 🇬🇪 always a good effort! I can rest easy, all I wanted was for Wales to get through the pool stages 👏👏
Georgia played like a bunch of whiny footballers, apart from 1 dodgy Zammit try they deserved the loss, was embarrassing at times the way they were acting
How does the concept of a flat ball work? That late Wales try looked like it went forward then boomeranged backwards. That's not momentum that's how he passed forward then it drifted backwards.
