​@24hr_rugby_jake On what basis do you say that? In the Broncos catchment of middlesex and Surrey there are well over 100 rugby union clubs. I can think of 5 off the top of my head who have >1000 members. There are 2 amateur RL clubs in the area both with about 200 members. Rugby is pretty popular. I'd be interested to see how that stacks up to Perpignan.

But sure there are some bigger rugby clubs in south west London. Still you won’t get any fans. Harlequins are the biggest team in London from a social media following and arguably play the most entertaining rugby of any club in any union comp or either code. And they’re an iconic club. Why would anyone, especially from the south, watch rughy league (rugby lite) over harlequins. If they even get news fans because both codes are getting suffocated from football because people are absolute sheep

@24hr_rugby_jake don't really know what your point is tbh Quins and Broncos have different seasons. Nobody is watching anything over Quins. As London's only full time pro club you don't need to have the reach of football. Or RU.

@@robmcrob2091 well you do have to have some interest because even if they’re the only pro club in london, it means f all if no one cares about rugby league, which they don’t. What should happen is you northerners realise the proper code of rugby, union, is the best, is global, is more entertaining and england would be a dominant force if you joined union

Hi, Australian here, but long time Wigan supporter. Super League teams confirm their squad numbers prior to the beginning of the season. The number assigned to a player will be their number for the year, regardless of the position they play in any given game. They are initially assigned similar to the average NRL team in that first choice 17 will be assigned in their postions. But as players are injured, rested or dropped, players with other numbers will play in those positions. Bevan French is 6, as the first choice five eighth/stand-off, but may play fullback with 6 on his back if Jai Field is out. 18 is always assigned to the Wigan fans.

You know what position someone is playing by looking at where they stand in the line and what job they're doing in the team. Do you really need to see a number 1 on a guy's back to comprehend that he's the fullback, if he's stood where the fullback stands and is doing the things the fullback does?

@@stephenford5839 To distinguish between players, rather than roles. Bevan French has played fullback, stand-off and (I think) winger this year, but he's always 6. If you know the numbers you know the player at a glance. Players get shuffled around, oftentimes mid-match, due to injury anyway. So it isn't like there's always a 1-to-1 correspondence between number and role in the NRL either. I'm not advocating for one sytem over the other btw. I honestly don't think it matters. I just don't see how anyone could find it that confusing.

​@@glenrobinson10 should've gone to specsavers. Marshall caught the ball further forward than from where it was thrown. But I can't blame them. If they're allowed to get away with certain things so much, they're bound to let their standards slip and keep doing it.

If the ball is caught closer to the line than the position from which it was thrown, it is - and say this with me now - a forward pass. Typical Wigan delusion. You can't be proud of your team without turning a blind eye to half the shit that helps you win. Lax/bent refs for starters.
