The death toll rises after a highway collapsed in southern China early on Wednesday, sending cars plummeting down a hill and killing dozens of people. Images taken after daybreak show charred vehicles piled up at the bottom of a ravine and a nearly 18 meter long gash in the Earth. Southern China has been bombarded with heavy rain in recent weeks.
