That's true. When we're kids, whenever we are sick, my mother always cook chicken tinola because that is so nutritious. We can easily recover and regain our energy. Another one is beef nilaga, another nutritious food from Phils. Good job Mommy Joy!

I really think we should be proud of this dish. I made some for my Non-Filipino partner and he said new favourite daw nya. Nakahanap naman ako papaya pero for dahon ng sili pechay nlng ginamit ko.
same here po samin...everytime we cook tinolang manok we always use native chicken po and also we use to cook it with horse radish or pepper leaves atsaka my siling mahaba pa po yan😋😋😋😋
I like Jimmy, he seems really nice and funny. Gentle giant. Favorite ko yan chicken tinola and pork ribs sinigang, sawsaw sa fish sauce with chili, then lots of rice. The best comfort food.

Tinola, one of my all-time fave! It brings back memories from decades back. My father (rip) used to give me its best part - chicken liver. My siblings get the regular parts - thigh, breast, wings. It's al good.

I don't know of it's really part of squash family. I only said it "chayote squash" to them because most stores I go to they labeled it chayote squash hehheheh.

I prefer my chicken tinola w/ a few yellow banana peppers for a little heat and some potatoes & petchay or chinese bokchoy. 😋. I also like that you’ve added green beans & spinach. You should teach them the story behind Tinola: The Rooster was tied (Tinali), was defeated through Sabong (Tinalo), and, therefore, as a result, he was cooked (Tinola) 😅😅😅

Chili leaves including 3 or 4 chili fruit itself ( that makes it moderately spicy & wont need them to put hot sauce) , that is the best. Patis @ sautee proceedings would truely give it the authentic tinola savory. 😊
