I know this is old af, but match 10 didn't have the 2 second increments so I think that white blundered and ended up losing once they realized they were way down on time as a 900 with only a minute left And watching Amimak in chat being missed repeatedly 😥
Hikaru with xqc: *xqc hangs his queen* Hikaru: ok, that’s probably not the best move but its still fine Hikaru with the sub battle: Come on, what was that... ohhh take the pawn take the pawn... Oh geez it s so bad.. 😂😂
@@IamnotfromUSA nah. Both what you say and what was played leave the players equal in points, but Rxd1 was better because after bxc6, black has a set of towered pawns. What was played is barely better.
Not sure if this'll be read by either Hikaru or Gotham, but idea for this format: Do the matches from the middle out ratingwise, so it gets progressively worse and better every other game. Last two games'll be the best and the worst, which is a nice finale
@@Thaddington no way the majority of their viewers are around 1500. There probably arent even enough players at that rating to be the majority of their viewers.
Beginner may be arguably harsh, but an amateur is literally anyone who isn't a professional, and good luck being considered a professional without any sort of title....
@@codetaku, or it could mean a person who is incompetent or inept at a particular activity. Since most chess.com players are in the sub 1500 range, being 1500 or higher is above average, so I wouldn't call them beginners necessarily.
So crazy that this was 9 months ago and he (Levy) was at 3k subs. Now he's over 425k subs on twitch! He really just blew up, and the chess community in general. So cool
Twitch subs and RU-vid subs are different, subs on twitch are paid. The subs equivalent is followers and he has 450k on twitch. He still has around 3000 subs which earns him roughly 7 to 8 thousand dollars in revenue.
"I don't always think you're the greatest chess player of all time Levy but you are.. you are better than some of these guys" 14:12 Levy just cant catch a break... FART OF IM Sadge
@@Cnut_the_grape That was three years ago. A0 beat SF by 52 Elo and SF has progressed 150+ elo since then. There is no doubt among computer chess enthusiasts that SF (and Leela) is better now than A0 was.
59:26 Damn... my heart sank and I’m not even the guy he was talking about. That would absolutely obliterate my spirit. I would probably never forget it and it would play in my head over and over.
@@tobiashudson4074 Wasted? No more than GMs who barely win anything or win no-name tournaments. Some players play for fun and there are some like these dumbfucks who think so much of themselves that they feel powerful after shaming players, 1000 rating points less than them. Sometimes I do love when better players than Hikaru (getting obliterated by Magnus) or this dumbfuck IM, really smash them to bits.
@@subhankarroy7514 idk toxicity is inevitable. you're being pretty toxic right now too. to them it's very easy to spot things like that so when someone doesn't spot them it sort of confuses them and they start to make statements like that.
Sounds harsh but these guys are knowledgeable and can see when someone needs a wake-up call. If you’ve had that many matches and play at that level, maybe you need to approach your learning process differently. If they’re someone who likes to play a lot and has fun, then no harm no foul. If they’re having an off day, then again no harm done. With that many games played they know how well they can perform any other time.
1:13:40 i feel bad. i once was an unranked guy that used to just play with my grandpa and dad and studied a lot, entered an under 1600 bracket, and had one of the best outings possible. i didnt know where to put my rating at. now i feel like im some kind of monster
Don't worry about it, you didn't know your ranking was higher and entered as unranked in good faith so they weren't talking about cases like yours, they were talking about cases were they do it on purpose i.e. people who know they are high ranked (maybe even titled) but maliciously enter as unranked in places where they're not known to guarantee a win. Besides, you've got to find your ranking somehow ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hikaru: "You know, Levy, I don't think you're not the greatest chess player of all time, but I think you're better than some of these guys." *Gestures to the chat* Levy: "..."
Speaking of going to mars, idk if it's all this chess thought making me think about all aspects of things, but I realized that the biggest problem with moving people to mars, aside from the obvious bits like getting people there and surviving there, is deciding what the governing rule system will be used. Everyone knows that there things can be better than they are, but there is no easy way to fix systems that are so heavily engrained into societies. However, moving people to another planet opens the possibility for a different set of governing rules.
It's amazing how I'm watching this video uploaded 2 years ago and hearing levy said "I just crossed 3000 subs". Imagine how far he got after 2years. This lockdown made us realize alot of things, alot of oppurtunities, and alot of growth.
1:30:25 "I think people... people partake in the devil's lettuce a little bit before they join the stream so they create these beutiful situations in their heads"
My all time favorite thing is watching very smart people who are professionals at a hobby or sport talk about something they know nothing about. IM and GM chess wizards talking about golf asking what the driving range is called, peak fun.
"I went to this super expensive restaurant but didn't pay" Hikaru over here getting the woman's perspective on dining out. Cause most guys have never experienced that.
Its so funny seeing their reactions and being able to match every single one to the 5 chess symbol comments like blunder, mistake, nothing, ok, and best haha
@@flickoramacustomerservice1199 Brilliant Best Move Excellent Good Book Inaccuracy Mistake Blunder Missed Win These are actually them! I wrote the comment before getting into the analyzing of chess so I didn't remember that there are more than the ones I said.
Perhaps unpopular opinion: Hikaru doesnt flex, he is just self-aware. I mean are we gonna deny that he is the best of the best? Sidenote: this is a great video, i really enjoyed it.
Had this running in the background and tabbed into it when levy asked "what is the opposite of the flex-emoji?" to check if chat spammed sadge and what can i say? I'm not disappointed.
1:34:10 Magnus used to be my neighbor. He’s always been like that, since he didn’t have the best childhood. He was bullied in school and resorted to chess all the time. I don’t say he should be acting this way, but I see where he comes from.
