My installation and review of the 10cm/100mm Hikig Extension. I'm a little disappointed with the rotational slop of the stick top to the inner rod, but other than that, its not too bad. I may look for other similar extensions to compare.
I had similar 'slop' with mine. After seeing your video, I super-glued the two plastic bits together, which helped, but it was still rocking where the grip joins the top of the extension. I discovered the plastic insert really needs clamping pressure on it, and it wasn't getting it because the top of the insert has to be slightly proud of the metal outer to achieve that. I have machine tools fortunately, so in the lathe skimmed a millimetre off the top of the metal outer, and reduced the diameter of the tube below the threaded section for a similar distance. A messier version of the mod could probably be achieved with files at a pinch. Made a huge difference; more than I'd hoped. The only play at all now is a hint of rotation in the gimbal itself, but that's nothing to do with the extension. I suspect the seriousness of the problem may vary from stick to stick depending on the machining tolerances. I'm glad I sorted it, because the action of the extension itself is great. Also, the wobble was bugging me so much I almost forked out for a full Virpil option; which I still may do - but it will be for a more positive reason than desperation!
It seems that most of the rotational movement was due to the two piece design of the inner rods. Gluing those two pieces together has greatly improved the situation.
Beaucoup trop de jeu en rotation, a la base le stick n'est pas fait pour étre aussi long. Du coup cela semble plus facile mais il existe trop de rotation, la piéce en plastique est de trés mauvaise qualité, la câble est légèrement trop long, le stick est fait pour être vissé sur la base sans pièce intermédiaire ; c'est pour moi trop mauvais et il est possible d'habimer le stick en plus si vous forcer a le mettre sans faire attention
