Yikes!!! What a day! But you two know how to have an adventure !! A tip for your truck…. We keep BOUNCE dryer sheets tucked in various places under the hood.. the theory is critters don’t like the odor of the dryer sheets. We live in farm country so mice, squirrels etc. often get in engines and so far we’ve never had trouble….🤞 As always thanks for taking us along⛰️
Well that took a turn. 😂 Your expressions on the way down in the truck were priceless. Just so you know an amusement park ride would have been cheaper. 😉 Thanks for sharing another adventure! Unbelievable!
Adventures of the unanticipated. Thank you for taking the time to include us even after you got back from an incredibly challenging, gorgeous hike to find 😢 another challenge. All done with a great attitude and example of how to embrace the journey.
I'm sorry for your difficulties, but I couldn't help but laugh at your reactions when being towed. That said, I, too, am sad about the Marmot. The animal lover in me gets a broken heart any time something like that happens.
Beautiful hike, but what a freak occurrence with the marmot and broken belt. And the ride down the mountain on the flatbed looked scary. Hope all's well now. Take care.
In Michigan it sure isn’t legal to ride in a towed vehicle, but sometimes there just aren’t any good choices. Congrats on the hike and being able to get out of there.
😢 poor little guy.. but it was a beautiful hike. I have a feeling those rocks were challenging to walk on. I hate to hear that about progressive that is also my insurance company 😒 great video ladies 😊
What an adventure!!! You couldn't tell that story and be believed if we hadn't seen the marmot. Four of us had to ride in a towed vehicle in Illinois years ago and I think it is illegal. Will all that loose hair come off the sheep? They look pretty weird. How many 14,000 footers have you done and how many are there. My granddaughter does those too. Can't wait for your next adventure and I hope you get your money back. Take care, be safe.
Hey gals! I just got my first pair of trekking/snowshoe poles and was wondering if Annette could give us a bit if a tutorial. 👍😎🇨🇦 What a wild ending to your day...
Well, where is Peskie when you need her ? But, great hike, you all are The Wonder Women !!! This shows you all have no medical issues ( heart or lungs). Thanks.
We have a trailhead or two in California where people leave chicken wire for the next people because the marmots are notorious for chewing up belts and things. I know that isn’t the case for you guys this time but have you run into that before? Glad you are getting home safely! Quite an adventure!
Another animal under the hood story! My parents used to live in So Cal. Winter temps normally get down to high 30's at night. My dad went out one morning to start the car and heard a loud screech and the motor wouldn't turn over. Open the hood and there's a cat wrapped up in the fan belt - condition Echo ( trooper talk for "gone" ). Dad had to disassemble the poor cat to remove it (mom and dad are both animal lovers). Car fired right up after that.....
Marmots can chew trough brake lines and radiator hoses in search of a fix of ethylene glycol .peppermint oil and cayenne pepper are reported to deter rodents 😊
Wow! I didn't know you could legally ride in a vehicle being towed, either! OMG. Like a roller coaster ride! Also good to know about Progressive being unable to find a tow but willing to reimburse, as that's who I have for insurance as well. I'd love to know how that plays out! RIP, poor marmot. 😕
Always another great adventure! Thats life, coping with the unexpected, which you two do so well. Where I live In Australia we always have a 5 or 10 Litre drum of water in our vehicles as help can be days away. Well done keeping your spirits high.😊
RIP, little marmot 😢 Where I grew up, we had to bang on the hood of the car before we got in to start it, because cats and wildlife would get up in there. One of my own cats died in my neighbour's engine 😢
Well, all of those phrases at the end of your video you used for this day. It worked. Btw, those hiking poles you use I do not recall you ever talking about them. Give a thumbnail. They looked handy for this day w/ snow and rocks.
What a day! So great to see those mountain goats, but not so much the marmot 😢 That’s quite the valley on the approach. It looks like a glacial valley…is it? Thanks for taking us along, and keeping the truck part much shorter than real time!
Car issues!!! And always crazy when they're caused by wildlife. Hope you both & your wallet have recovered. (But it was a little comical watching Kristy's face riding in the truck on top of the tow truck in the dirt road...the surprise mixed with apprehension at every bump!). Glad you made it safely back home!!
Oh my, what a day. How does Torrey compare to Bierstadt? Ill be in Colorado in August.I may have to give it a try. Thanks for taking us along. Happy 4th.
