Ca'rrauntoohil is Ireland's tallest mountain at 3,414 ft high. It is part of the Macgillycuddy reeks mountain range in county Kerry in the south western part of Ireland. If you travel on the ring of Kerry towards Killorglin, you will see sign posts for the Gap of Dunloe and Carrauntoohil. You will end up at your destination in Cronin's yard where the trail begins and ends.
It will take you about one hour twenty minutes to reach the base of Carrauntoohil. The average round trip to the summit and back takes about five and a half hours. It is an amazing picturesque climb on a sunny bed.
