The Cossatot River is famous for its Class IV and V whitewater. But there is more to Cossatot River State Park than extreme paddling. There are some great hiking areas there too! One of those areas is Cossatot Falls, accessible via the River Corridor Trail, or by rock-hopping from the parking area. For all the details on this trip, including pics, google map, tips and more, visit our blog post here:

This is a great spot to go to when the water is low and swim! It’s like a bunch of personal jacuzzis between the rocks.

@lukerobbins2822 I've never been there when it's warm enough to swim. I'll bet that's pretty nice!

@WholeOtherLevelOutdoors Do it! It's well worth the drive. But head out there early in the day. There's lots to see!

Since this is old footage, you probably realize that in this footage the falls were rolling pretty good but not ripping that the daredevils that like to run them like them to be. I still enjoyed the video and appreciate the effort you put in to get some really nice footage. I LOVE Cossatot State Park just because all of it is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

@Bill Mccullough I didn't think it looked much different than in some of the paddling videos I've seen. But that would certainly explain why there weren't any paddlers that day. Thanks for commenting. Always appreciate your feeback!

Like you, running this is my goal. I just started my whitewater journey this year. We have been hitting the Mulberry at higher water levels and learning. Maybe next year for the Tot. :)

@Eric Tomlinson I'm not sure if I'll ever hit the Tot....maybe one day. I either need to do whitewater/roll lessons first, or invest in an inflatable. But the Mulberry....that's a different story. I've done that one at 5 feet (near flood stage) in a sit-on-top! lol. Love that river!

And let's all give a big shout-out to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who in the 1970's ruined the lower section of this river (which was just as scenic but more suitable for casual canoeing) with a make-work dam project.
