What a great shot, when you followed that duck. Unscathed snow with the sun gleaming off of the ice, very tranquil episode P6. Thank you for the dedication. Keep driving on!
Absolutely beautiful. I recommend visiting Rock Creek Cemetery. Some really amazing cemetery art along with stories of those who were laid to rest there.
Austro-Hungarian playwright Ödön von Horváth (Tales from the Vienna Woods) was hit by a falling branch from a tree and killed during a thunderstorm on the Champs-Élysées in Paris in 1938. He was only 36 years old. Imagine all the works he could have written. So, please take care, Penguin! Looking forward to *many* of your walks.
I love your videos and first came across your channel around this time last year when the UK went into it's third national lockdown. I found myself traveling vicariously through your videos around Washington DC. I also love hearing all the historical information and trivia that you share 😀
I watch your videos as I'm recovering from chemo. Sometimes I watch them as I'm getting chemo, but right now I'm home. It was a chemo day. It takes me away for awhile and I learn so much from you. I love visiting DC myself. Haven't been there in awhile though. That walk up the strenuous trail had me on the edge of my seat. Your wife must think you're nuts after she watched it 🤣. Thank you again for the hike today!
I am one that likes with you and enjoy it but today your hiking is scaring me but I do enjoy it, thanks for showing every thing it is absolutely beautiful thanks
Kinda pretty, no? Penquin revise this! Kinda pretty, yes! What a beautiful walk. Thanks for taking the path less traveled! I love seeing the world through your eyes! Thanks! This is why you are #1 tour guide!
Love this walk. The trees are beautiful with the snow on them and I love the water and also the waterfall it was just breathtaking. Thank you so much that you came out in this weather to show us the beautiful scenery. Please be careful I don’t want to see you fall see you on the next video
That was sooo beautiful.. thank you. I live in Rhode Island how many miles north and it hasn't snowed here yet LOL. Good for you that you got out in the sunshine!
Rock Creek Park a true treasure in Washington. Hopefully there are still volunteer group(s) whose mission is to pull ivy off of good trees. Growing up with the park for walks, picnics & horseback riding- wonderful. For riding, the adjacent Wheaton Regional Park in bordering MD should still offer it to the public. Watch out for the traffic no matter the season!
Beautiful scenery along the river side trail. Perfect conditions for walking an icy treacherous trail along a very steep embankment with an icy cold river directly below. Lol. Somtimes i worry about you.
Gotta love a park like the one you are walking. I have one in philly 2 blocks away with no cars just a walking trail a creek and plenty of trees. No snow in philly.
It is so beautiful. Thank you for all the beautiful places you take us. I do feel like I am right there with you, and I enjoy every step. I used to travel a lot, but getting older and a back injury keeps me at home a lot. Thank you from Texas.
The walking through the forest in Rock Creek Park with the snow on the ground and trees reminds me of my hikes in the winter months here in NW PA where I live when walking on railroad tracks through the forests in winter months. Also, Where I walk usually in winter months through forests on railroad tracks, there is a creek called French Creek which meets at the Allegheny River and Creek and Allegheny River run parallel to railroad tracks. The creek running parallel to trail adds to the reminder of how things look around here as well.
Next adventure for next snow, takes us along to your country house in Maryland, let's ride snowmobiles! Who wants to go on this hoping future adventure.
I can't find the video that goes along with my comment which has to do with Darth Vader on the side of the National Cathedral. I Googled it and here's what I found-'grotesques deflect rainwater by bouncing it off the tops of their heads and away from the stone walls.'
In the snow I wear Columbia hiking shoes (can't remember which model). My standard hiking/walking shoe is (and has been) ASICS Kayanos which I've been wearing for about a decade. I have two pairs and alternate every other day. My current ones are model #28 which I have to confess I don't like as much as my previous pair (#25)
State of VA notoriously dysfunctional re anything road related. Richmond for decades fought funding roads & infrastructure planning & construction in N VA- it's a problem VA will never overcome.
