The mountain peak looks incredible from far! Oh I'm using Osprey backpack too :D Wow the mountain and the trek looks even more beautiful when you're nearby! Stunning! That waterfall, the views - just stunning! That trail on the side of the mountain is like a goat trail... I felt a little bad for the cows. Can you imagine having that bell on your neck ALL of the time? Definitely a long hike!

What an amazing place - like you said, so many adjectives! Really something spacial. Whenever we do a challenging walk I start regreaating it at some point but by the way down I just feel so accomplished and happy I'd done it! The waterfalls are so cool, just everywhere, reminded me of Iceland, where everywhere you go there's a waterfall to be spotted in to rocks and mountains!

For us, the best thing about hiking in a place like this is that it's usually never too hot. So weird that it doesn't tell you how many miles. It usually takes us longer than most people to get to places. Haha It does look like you have to be careful while hiking here. You must have a drink there! Glad you guys saw most of it.

Hmm, that would worry me and I have taken two hours up Helvellyn before but one guy told me it took him 10 hours! I prefer to know the mileage and the height, to work out what I will take to do it. It was a spectacular walk mind and you were right about the waterfalls there, absolutely stunning, as was the cable car ride, I love them, although Mrs MetalMan hates them lol. I felt for your knees, having bad ones myself and an early start seems a must, cheers Alan

Great honest video and analysis. I was wondering if someone started at Grindelwald and went to Tanzboden and then back to Grindelwald, does that make it doable on the knees and your feet pushing into the front of your shoes? I am still wondering if the downhill portion back to the river or "Im Tal" is still brutal. I am asking because I hiked to Im Tal many years ago and then went straight down to Stechelberg and that last portion was so brutal on my knees and toes - ha.

This is a most fantastic walk. Its long and steep especially at Tanzboden. Don't look down during this bit of the walk along a narrow path. They make it look easy! My wife was screaming and wanted to go back! We got through it and down to the hotel for a beer. We didn't go to the lake either. We took the path down via Tal to get a view of the jaw dropping Schmadri waterfall. There are waterfalls everywhere and you can get up close to the Holdri waterfall which is super ionized. Down to Trachsellauenen for a cheese on toast which is out of this world. After all this region is a UNESCO World Heritage site!

😊 Great video. How many miles did the hike turn out to be? I find it quite odd for the signage to have the amount of time the hike takes rather than the distance... we don't all walk at the same pace and it depends how many stops you have...
