Thank you for watching! Would you be interested in a video of us hiking the full length of the Kungsleden? Let us know in the comments! And of course, let us know if you have any questions about the trail. Always happy to help.

Great video! Love the swedish landscape! I was wondering about how you two got to Kvikkjokk in the first place since it seems to be pretty remote. Also at which airport did you arrive?

Thank you so much! We love the Swedish landscape as well. Can’t wait to be back. Getting to kvikkjokk was a journey indeed, but loved the travels. We took the plane from Amsterdam to Stockholm Arlanda. Than we got on the night train NT94 towards Murjek and there we took the bus to jokkmokk and from there the bus to kvikkjokk (it was the same bus, but it had a long break in jokkmokk). All the train stations are super small, so you can’t get lost. Before the travels we were a bit nervous to do this journey, but literally on the train station of Stockholm we met so many people doing the same trip towards kvikkjokk. On top of that everyone we met was super helpful, so the trip was actually a lot of fun! And the scenery you travel by is so beautiful! We know that some people flew to Kiruna or went via gällivare as well, but we really wanted the experience of the night train. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing your adventure!! The Kungsleden is on my scheudle too. I am not a really experienced hiker and i wonder about the choice of your footwear. In other Kungsleden or basicly in other northern sweden hiking viedeos, people recommend to wear good Hikingboots. But you two jumped over the Kungsleden like Hummingbirds 😉 🐦 I am confused now ^^ Are you so deep in hiking that you hike the rough terrain with Trail Runnig Shoes? They are not realy made for hiking with 15 Kg Backpacks. Well, i dont really like this stiff Boots, but i think i will need them up there. What was the reason for you to choose Trail Running Shoes?

Hi!! Thank you so much for your comment. Haha and thank you, we felt like two hummingbirds as well. About the shoes, it really depends what you are used to. The Kungsleden itself is a muddy, slippery and sometimes rocky terrain. Not mountain like, but more like ‘messy’. Tree roots, smaller rocks and slippery wooden paths. It is nothing technical, just be careful with where you hike. Better be slow and safe 🙏🏼 Back to the shoes, we are both used to trail runners. I (Alette) get pain in my shins and calves when hiking in boots. I feel much more secure and balanced in my trail runners. That’s why I choose trail runners for the Kungsleden. I am confident on my trail runners. As long as my trail runners have enough cushioning, it is fine with the heavy load on my back. It is what I am used too. I do have a pair of hiking boots but I only wear them when I go in deep snow. Since I don’t want to get cold feet. Probably the people who suggest good hiking boots, hike always with hiking boots. It’s the ongoing trail runner versus boots discussion 😛 My conclusion: If you are used to hiking boots and only wear hiking boots, I would suggest hiking the Kungsleden in hiking boots. If you are used to trailrunners, go with trailrunners. I think it was 50/50 in the trail, hiking boots versus trailrunners. Go with the gear you trust! That’s the most important.

This looks like an amazing trail. I already heard about it, but I enjoyed watching your journey. Seeing the northern lights must have been just amazing! But all your other campsites, hut looked great. Really out in nature! A bit of a hassle to organize the boat... The Kungsleden is longer then the part you did, isn't it? Have a great weekend ! Kaat

Glad you enjoyed it! Yes the boats were a bit of a hassle but once you are one the trail it is fine. We were late in the season so couldn’t hike the entire trail because the boats get pulled out of the water mid September. So yes this was not the complete Kungsleden but a section. We will definitely be coming back 😎 planning to hike the Kungsleden as well?
