Thanks for watching everyone. I've gotten several comments noting that I incorrectly noted this hike as Class 3 in this video. While I do feel like one small portion of the route I selected involved a bit of a scramble, I have to agree with everyone in clarifying that this route can in fact be done completely within the class 2 range. Thanks again for all the feedback.
I don't think I had a GPS route for this one. I just made one from the trrip reports found online. I started writing my own report but unfortunately have not finished. Check out summitpost or peaksforfreaks blog
Haha. Glad you liked that part. I always feel so dramatic when I'm walking by children who are skipping around me as Im using everything I have left to get up the ramp.
@@trvrsoutdoors Good work on this one! That's definitely the hard way up Jacinto! I've wanted to do this one for a while, good to see some actual visuals. Have you gotten out to Dawn's Peak in Anza? That's a nice suffer-fest too.
@@trvrsoutdoorshi I just did Villager peak …. Very scrambled ridge ….. planning other peaks near by ….. but I can’t find this route and how to get there☹️☹️☹️
I took my ex-girlfriend up the Leatherneck a couple years back and we broke up shortly after. Nice capture brother, and really cool watching fellow madmen carve out their own niche in the adventure content space. Bravo!
Oh, man. Hopefully, it's for the better. I could totally see someone getting overwhelmed up there. Thank you. Trying to carve out a niche anyway. We'll see if it pays off. Gonna give it another year and see how RU-vid treats me.
@@trvrsoutdoors Well whatever your end goal may be, I do hope you reach it. In the meantime, you are providing good value and content to all the adventurers of SoCal and beyond. The algorithm just recently put you in my feed, so I'm sure you will hit some kind of critical mass very soon. Best of luck mate.
Awesome. Drove by there thousands of time and wondered what that hike would be like. Some gnarly ridgelines. So you basically always have Chino Canyon on your left, more or less. Seems like it would be best to try it just before the first fall snows.
I had read that finishing with some snow on the ridge would make it more fun and I agree that the snow fields on the last section kept it interesting. I just wish I would have brought my trekking poles! UGH! that was rough.
This is really a walk in the park compared to Snow Creek, but I really enjoyed the amount of physical effort I got to put in without ever feeling like I was too far from safety. The tram, cell service, etc.
Later start than snow creek. Glad you got to sleep in a little 😂 you dominate that mountain. Thanks for sharing...glad somebody shared your video. Good stuff.
I'm still confused because I'm hearing that whole area at the base of the hill is dwa property so I really need to study this area because it sounds like they're shutting a lot of it down except for PCT access
I actually wrote a trip report that includes some information on this. It also includes a Caltopo map with the DWA property marked. I did not trespass for this outing. That would be cheating ;)
@@trvrsoutdoors I'm tempted to trespassing in snowcreek canyon from the PCT just to check that area out. Sick and tied of areas getting shut down by the government. Nobody's going to do anything. Just charge a day use fee and let us in man 😂
@@GrumpyCat24 i don't think you're understanding me. The PCT part of Snow creek isn't closed. It's just a small square mile that is closed off. You can see it in the map that I provided on that webpage link.
@@trvrsoutdoors I'm wanting to check out the DWA area that's closed. Not sure if that's all or part of snow creek canyon. It used to be open until the last 10 years. Always thought it was BLM or FWL land but water authority property is always closed and enforced. California and their crazy laws.
That is a reeeeeaaaallly old Salomon Wind breaker. I don't know the model. I replaced the zipper once but that thing is a solid piece of gear. One of the first pieces of Outdoor gear I ever bought. Very happy with the purchase.
