This is my new favorite video from you, and I know I’ve said that more than once. The desert, the saguaro cactus, and your relentless climb up that very steep and dangerous trail. Glad you were able to save your cheese burger. Cheers
Hello Traveling Robert😊😊🎵🎵🎸🎸, 1st of all I had a wonderful road trip to Miami and the Keys. I had hoped that i would cross paths but unfortunately didn't. What an incredible hike up that mountain and those chains...Wow, what an incredible view. I was very worried that you only had one bottle of water left but you made it back. The views absolutely SPECTACULAR!! I'm looking forward to the next video as you head toward Salt River Canyon and Sho Low...i have been to both of those places and it's SPECTACULAR!! I can't wait to see that footage. Great video Robert👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!!
I will tell you sir that these last two videos are indeed amazing . Tucson and surrounding area are incredible . The sunset capture was indescribable !!! Great job .
You had me at the grill marks on the burgers, bread, and melted cheese!🍔🥓🥰 Absolutely mouth-watering! You've started the morning off right before the hike!🥓🍳☕Going up Picacho Peak started off fairly smooth, so it seems, and then, it must have been intense the more you climbed up, I bet! All of the Cacti are beautiful, and the rock formations are beautiful, but they must have been challenging!😏Yay!🎉You've made it to the top🌄-that's very impressive( and so are the views looking down and far away)! And a mailbox📫 should be at every mountain for strenuous climbing/hiking, I think! What an awesome way to reward yourself in the end after making it down!🥩🌵🌄Beautiful Sunset!
Robert, thank you for this video. Picacho Peak became part of my family’s New Year’s 2023 RV trip going from SoCal to Mew Mexico. It was a great campground and we’ll definitely return. I never would’ve discovered this place without your video. Thanks again.
Beautiful sunsets for sure. You should get a medal for that hike. That was unbelievable. Although I'd hate to be stuck up there at night. Every rattlesnake on the mountain would love to get friendly with all that human body heat. 😁
Good job Robert. Lived in Tucson for 40+ years and never hiked up Picacho Peak. Did NOT realize it was such a strenuous hike. Always knew I was getting close to my hometown when passing the Peak.
Robert, your voice brings back fond memories of the narrators in the "Wonderful World of Disney" documentaries when I was growing up. You have a wonderful voice, very calming and soothing.
You are nuts my friend I don't know how you made that hike with those cables and no gloves and the footing looked treacherous. Thank God for your safe arrival, I have to say when you read that sign for experienced hikers only I almost fell off my chair laughing, you are a better man than I Roberto.
Oh that hike scared me! I was glad to see you get down. Enjoyed it though and loved the IPA, grilling/resting scene where the birds played on the cactus! Always enjoy your videos!
Thank you Robert for the cooking show. I’ve been asking, suggesting and hoping. Best cooking music on tv. Every episode should contain “the cooking segment”. 👍🏻🥓🌶🍔
Hi Robert, A newbie here, I feel that this was an incredible video! I never cared for the desert before, but, you have shown me what an awesome place it can be!
Thank you so much for making your wonderful videos. That hike was amazing. I always dread going down a steep trail more than up. You did amazing as was the sunset😍
All I can say is WOW! I did the hike to the top with my brother (a much more experienced hiker than me) in 1997!! It seemed way more precarious now than it did back then........ funny how you can be so much braver when you're young!! I'm sure you can add this one to your "bucket list"! Thank you for the great video and the memory!😎😉
Hello Robert, Wow that was an impressive hike and a lot of rock climbing. I so enjoyed watching you climb to the summit. My number one rule on all Hikes take plenty of water. You always go the extra mile for your viewers. Awesome video thank you Robert
I live at Cactus Country and I saw my motorhome and Jeep in your video! Too funny 😂. So glad you liked it here. The people who run the RV park are great folks. Enjoyed seeing your trip to Picacho. Haven't made it out that way yet, but it's on our list.
I might have left my other comment a little to early. I guess you can't really use hiking poles on that hike. AMAZING! Thanks for taking us with you. Arizona is on my bucket list and I sure can't wait to go!!!
BENDICIONES...DTC
Hey Robert! I just missed your visit by a couple of days! I'm a truck driver who just delivered in Tucson yesterday, and I'm heading back to California and looking at Picacho Peak under the full moon! 🌝 Thanks for the great video, and stay safe out there on the highway. If I see you, I'll honk!!👍🙂
Bravo!! I have driven by many times and never imagined climbing it! That was more treacherous then your Angel Peak hike. Very professionally edited! Thank you!
Good morning Robert thanks again for your video every Sunday morning I enjoy your video keep doing I hope one this days I can go to this place what beautiful places.
Hey you did a great job climbing that mountain. That would be tough for a younger person. Now you can trot on down. You must be part goat! You deserve a beer after that hike!
Wow, picacho peak is pretty nice. I will be visit this area in the 2nd week of april this year. Tnx sharing this video. Now i know what to expect me. Greets from germany
OMG, as much as I enjoyed watching your videos this one gives me some chills as you were climbing and going down that mountain. You surprised me hiking that like a piece of cake. Anyways be careful on your future peaks hike.
Picacho Peak is a neat place. There is some history there no less. The only Civil War battle in AZ happened near there at Picacho Pass. Also the shallow cave has holes that ancient people used for grinding seeds and such into flours.
Well. Mr. Robert. LOL I thought I yelled at you before to never do that again! LOL LOL LOL, I know I am not ur mom! You say no one ever writes about cowards but no one ever writes about stuff on a rock either! LOL LOL I was watching on tv and had to just cut it off. But I came into my computer to give you a thumbs up. I guess ur just gonna keep on climbing those crazy rope trails. We love you so much we don't want to see fall down go boom.
Thank you, Robert, for that spectacular sunset! I was exhausted just watching you make that hike, the next time you need to plan a little better and ALWAYS have an IPA in the fridge!
Hey Robert, if you are going to continue doing treks like this, may I suggest at least a single trekking pole. They can take so much load off you legs, let alone giving you much more stability you as you get exhausted. There are some that have camera mounts at the top, so you can use it as "selfie stick" as well. I am approximately the same age and fitness level, but I do a lot of backpacking. I dont always use them, but i always have them with me. Especially on long treks or excessive elevation gains, they really help!
Hey Robert, happy Sunday! I've camped at Picacho a couple of times, one time a thunderstorm blew through and the rain was coming down in buckets! The last part of the hike to the peak is not for the faint of heart, but the view from the top is worth it! Did you see the Ostrich Farm when you were there? Love that sunset at the end. Happy trails!
Great presentation of the area. I did the Hunter trail there a couple of years ago. I was almost back down to the flat when my feet slipped out from under me on the little stones on top of hard rock. I just slipped down the mountain about ten feet but I had a big time case of road rash. I agree with Robert, going downhill can be harder than going uphill. Safe travels everyone.
Give you credit. Live in Az. Have done some hiking. That one looks like a little bit too precarious for me. Sure you're not part mountain goat? LOL. You're probably getting your wife worried doing these kind of things. Thanks again for sharing. Have driven past this every time and never gone to the park.
