I just ordered the stuff to do this, I hate that sun runner hat, it just dosent sit on your head right, but the flap is great for extended trips in the desert or the hot summer months. thanks for the great tip.
Great video and instructions. I have an OR Sun Runner hat and would to like use the cape with another hat I have. So I ordered the 12mm snaps on Amazon using the link but the set I received does not have a female snap compatible with the male snap on my OR cape. Would appreciate it if can double check the link or let me know where you bought the snap that fits the male snap on the cape?

I had the same experience where the Amazon snap set did not work but the eBay snap set did work. I installed them on a Simms Flats Cap - Long Bill. The cap is lightweight, breathable, light colored, and has a bill which is noticeably longer and wider than a typical sized cap.@@markb002

Hey Vlad, yeah I disappeared for a bit... Spent the last 6 weeks building a camper van and hit the road a week ago. Did an overnight hike on the bighorn mountains in wy, and have a ton of hikes lined up for the next few months. just arrived in dinosaur National monument to do a week long traverse of the park, and actually have service here at camp on night one. Still don't have my hiker legs yet for the summer, and today's bushwhack ascent out is a canyon was an ass kicker. It's beautiful though! I have scheduled the brt movie to be published here on youtube July 1st, so that's coming up fast! Hope you are having a good summer

ya know what would be even EASIER & CHEAPER...... use #VELCRO and some #E6000 glue to attach the velcro over the existing snaps and the other side of velcro to your hat. TA! DA! i just did my hat in less than 1min, hahahahaha
