Hiking the beginning/end of the Bibbulmun track from Kalamunda to Helena Camp Site is approx 34.5km in distance and was a testing experience to say the least. Helena Camp Site was decimated a couple years ago when fire tore through the area, but it's since been rebuilt and is nothing short of amazing. For anyone looking to do an overnight hike in the Perth Hills, this is one destination that I highly recommend - Just wary of the over friendly kangaroo!

So good to watch Josh’s quiet videos. They speak for themselves through wonderful scenery, peaceful background music - or none at all, soft background chatter with other hikers. I feel as if I am there. And a bit of a talk at the end. Excellent work Josh. Cheers, Ian.

Very soothing video while we're in lockdown in Sydney... good point about measuring your own ability on the trail

Could already tell you were inspired by Kraig Adams. I noticed the style, the tent, and now the music too :D Love your videos, shows me a part of the world i've never seen its nature of.

Thanks dude, really appreciated! Kraig's a huuuge inspiration of mine so hoping my videos can turn out half as a good as his. Yeah I'm definitely not the most observant person - Truth be told, it took me a solid month or two after buying mine to realise that we had same tent. Great minds think a like I guess ;)

Nice video, love the morning mist! It looks so peaceful on the track... I use Merino sock liners under a pair of normal socks to prevent blisters. It really helps prevent the friction :D

Thanks Dori, could hardly believe it when I opened up my tent in the morning! I'll definitely be investing in a pair of those for the next hike that's for sure.

Excellent share. We should all understand our physical limitations in wild isolated areas. Thanks for your experience. I'll remember better medkit, marshmallows and planning. What about snakes and spiders?

Can't forget the marshmallows! Snakes and spiders are really no issue. Just have to be wary that they do exist and for the most part they'll leave you alone

Are kangaroo ticks much of a problem? The one time I went camping in the SW I got a few.

Yeah they can be. Me and another mate did a hike a bit further along the Bibb a couple months back and literally got covered head to toe in hundreds of the salt and pepper ticks. Haven’t had any bad experiences apart from that one time though

Blisters. Cut the top off with sharp beard scissors then ignore them. Buy some Fixomul and put it on your hotspots and you will avoid the blisters in the first place. Great photography, great production great music, but you talk too much. A good job. B+
