I read through the comments but it doesn’t seem that somebody asked already: except for the first day where you used your day backpack, do you have to bring all your backpacks with you from one stop to another? Or are you able to drop the big backpack at the first campsite/lodge and take it back once finished the W track? Thanks!

Thank you for the very informative video, beautiful hike!! I'm also planning a solo trip to the W trek this November, unfortunately the refugios at Frances and Cuernos are already booked out. Only options are camps and I don't want to bring camping gear with me. Did you have trouble finding availability for the refugios? I assume you booked on the Las Torres & Vertice websites? If there truly aren't spots, do you know if I can skip this section somehow?

You can say "ventarron" to mean strong wind also. Spanish speakers would use more "ventarron" than "viento muy fuerte" (wing very strong).
