Camp Raven Knob is a private camp for the use of scouts and scouters of the Boy Scouts of America. All requests to view the Cabin Fever location will need to be done before arrival as outside visitors are allowed on a limited basis. We let you know this so you do not waste a trip and can be better prepared. We enjoy this location and hope we can share it will everyone when the timing is right. For more information, please contact us by phone or email, thanks!
Thanks for the detailed info . I’ll pin this comment and spread the word for anyone else interested in a visit to the location in the future . Sorry for the confusion
Well they didn't close and lock the gate, there was no signs stating do not enter ANYWHERE! Adam wouldn't have went in if everything was warning him not to go in, and he would have contacted someone to properly enter... So if no signs, or locked gate it's not trespassing
Fun fact, Robert Harris who played “Old Man Cadwell” in the movie and who ran the general store, my grandfather and he were friends up until my grandfathers death in 2010. Harris passed away in 2015. I’ve never been to Camp Ravens Knob, but been to Priddys General Store many times when I go hiking at hanging rock. Thanks for taking my suggestion to visit the store!
My family owns Priddy’s Store and my mom runs it and operates it. That’s my grandads truck outside my grandmothers house lol. Bella is the dog. She’s my aunts. She stays in the road. It’s a quiet place. I’m also the kid in the yellow shirt when he’s showing the pictures
That "pooch" is Bella Priddy. She lives next to the store with Jane Priddy's sister Amy. A bit of history - Priddy's General Store started out as Hartman's General Store, built by my husband's great-grandfather. He is buried across the street in the Hartman cemetery. If you look carefully, you can see his gravestone up on the hill. The Priddy family bought the Hartman Store during the depression and they have kept it going since. I thank God for the Priddy family and their devotion to keeping history alive!
I (Tammy) hope you never lose your sense of wonder! I love it when you can't contain your excitement! It is amazing how things just seem to come together when you don't know if you will find what your looking for or not. Enjoyed this adventure very much!
Adam, you bring back so many good memories for me and so many others I'm sure. I have loved your content for many years, MANY years, back when you went on adventures for me without even asking my mom. In Gate City VA, my grand lived in a valley, in the middle of NO WHERE, you had to go like 40 minutes around a mountain to get to the other side. Anyway, there was a general store down the road from his hosue about a mile. Little old lady own/ran/lived there. She had EVERYTHING man. From wallets to belts, to frozen pizzas to candy to little toys and everything in between. I loved that place so much. I know people say things are magical way too much these days and it's lost its meaning, but it rreally was magical. It was dark inside, the counter and display cases were right out of the late 1800s, early 1900s. Part of the back still had a dirt floor, (she stocked hardware an tools back there, oil, stuff like that) It was like stepping back in time. Not a place that's made to look like it, like a legit place that survived. The smells, the look, the vibe. One of those memories I'd give about anything to go back to. Back when a 8 year old could walk a mile down the road. Damn I'm getting old. I know no one will ever read this. But there ya go.
Adam, when you are on a mission, you're 💯% determined. WOW, you found your way to the cabin. (You always provide us with the background info. THANK YOU.) I'm glad you got in. That's quite the isolated place!🤠👏❄️
That was epic man. I remember when CF came out, I ended up renting the DVD and keeping it past my welcome- watched it several times alone, and with friends. Its a fun horror movie with evil dead vibes ,and up until that point in time, no one had seen anything like it before.. It’s a hilarious film. Great job finding the cabin. That was so awesome. Glad that gate was open dude
I was smiling seeing you so excited about the cabin and especially as you realized you actually can go in! I think many hikers do not know what this cabin is but hey, now we know lol That hardware store though, oh man what a paradise!
I literally started watching RU-vid years ago and Adam was the start of my adventures. I CANT understand why he doesn't have more viewers!? Such great content ! Love you Adam and I look fwd to your uploads brother!
Adam, I spent time for many a summer at Camp Raven Knob, probably the best Boy Scout Reservation in the eastern part of the U.S. That cabin is for counselors who work at the camp during camp season. Just wanted to give a shout out to the great Camp Raven Knob. And I'm sure you realize, since you and your mom were just there, that Mt. Airy is just a few miles east. We used to take Scouts on field trips to that quarry you visited. Wish you had hiked up The Knob. That is always good exercise.
Yep. That is the same shed. It had more boards covering the top parts of it in the film, but it even has the little roof section in the back of it. Both are the same structures from the film, Adam!
My two daughters and I went to Hunger Games location, years ago, right before they posted no trespassing, we explored the old mill houses, found a shoe, took a pic in front of the bakery. Now they’ve restored it and do tours, outside Morgantown, NC. We were all alone exploring. I enjoy your excitement.
Thank you. While it was unexpected, it is always awesome to see a filming locations video. I love how the store is paying tribute to their film fame with photos and such.
Isolated in the woods, no cell service: you were IN a horror movie plot!! Also, as you were describing the roads, you reminded us of: "Twisty - turny -bendy/wind-ey" as our dearly missed Stacey from the Must-Do Disney WDW resort tv loop! It's wonderful seeing you enjoy yourself so much!!!
I have been watching you for years now Adam and when you said "I think I freakin found it!!' and crud, that is the closest I have ever heard you come to cussing. LOL I personally didn't find it offensive but endearing. I love your excitement and enthusiasm upon finding the cabin. It was like a kid coming downstairs Christmas morning and seeing the new fancy bike he asked for with a big red bow and his name on it! (Just no taking it down any slides! )
Thanks for the video. You may or may have not known this but the Hospital scene was also filmed in Mocksville's old Hospital. Also in the same county where Rider Strong falls into the water, that scene was filmed at the Coolemee Bull Hole.
This is so so cool! Your reaction when you found the cabin is priceless! Thanks so much for sharing your experience and these locations. Totally fascinating to me.
I went there a year ago, pretty amazing hike, they have to keep the door unlocked for traveling hikers to have a place to go to rest, sleep and keep out of the elements....I live in Wisconsin so yes I would have drove on that small road leading towards the cabin, AWD all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive is the only vehicles I drive... enjoy
Thanks for visiting these places in my state. Thanks to you, I've visited a lot of the places that I never knew existed until I saw them in your past video's.
Yes Adam does it aging he can find a needle in a haystack lol but really it's good as what he does, sometimes there hard to look for to get for your filming location, but he'll get the job done (it's hard work.) Thanks for sharing this video Adam.👍👍📹
So friggin awesome!! Walking up on the cabin fever cabin!!! And it's def the one from the film. I looked up photos and they match! That's so dang cool Adam!!!
I like the sound of the water under that bridge. Just a cool sound from a mountain stream. I think Adam has a fever for Cabin Fever,😁. Cool sights inside the general store like the old glass soda bottles.
How cool that you found it, I was scared for you, all alone, no cell service. ekkk. Cute litt cabin. I can hear the joy in your voice when you get excited when you find something cool. Make it a great day!
Love your presentations, Adam. Cabin fever is a way of life for us in Indiana...2 feet of snow within the past couple of weeks. I'm just a stones throw from Shipshewana. You need to check it out. It is an Amish community and the people are friendly.
Adam you are amazing. The excitement in your voice when you found it is refreshing. I remember watching this film. I hope you didn't walk that far from your car tho. Plse stay safe venturing off on your own and walking about xx
Can tell you never lived in an area with snow. We had to laugh with the tiny amount of ice and snow you were so afraid of. That snow is what remains after shoveling in most Northern areas. Lol
HEY ATW...I HAVE TO CONCUR WITH TAMPA JAY," THAT WAS EPIC, MAN!". You brave, ice, snow, barking dogs, ice cold conditions, whipping winds, on top of being alone in the middle of nowhere and risking life and limb, to stand in front of the "CABIN FEVER" cabin with a piping hot caffeinated beverage !!!! Now that, is the meaning of-EPIC.
Awesome video 👀 don't you dare go in the back and drink that creek 💦 water!! And never sit next to DENNIS! Cabin Fever started my love for Eli Roth back in the day. I even named my son after him 14 years ago ❤️ #HORRORFANATIC love your channel, your work 👍🏻
Thank you Adam. Once again a fantastic vlog. And this one is specially cool because of the subject matter (Horror). I just loved "Cabin Fever" as I'm sure your fans and followers (what I've termed "The Woo Man Clan") your manner of presentation is just so warm and friendly. Keep your adventures coming my friend 🤗
I would love to spend the night there!! You should of closed that window as you were leaving before the critters take it over, i'm surprised they have not already!!! Great video again Adam :) \m/
This is great Adam ! very exciting and happy you were able to find the cabin...now I need to see the movie! did not know about this movie location. I have tromped around the Bat Cave in Bronson Canyon. Oh, buy the way I was excited to see the town of Mocksville, came through there one time and out on HWY 601 I remember seeing the graves of the parents of Daniel Boone. I did a short video on my channel of my visit there. Looking forward to the next vlog !
Your videos are always full of surprises... Does anyone else have RU-vid problems of NOT sending alerts when new videos are posted. If it wasn't for the fact they were daily I'd miss them. Looking forward to the next one.
Hey Adam...any chance in the future a film/ video of the old Pandarosa or Ponderosa Ranch in Nevada? Been there when I was a kid but it was shut down...would love to see what it looks like now
Morning Woo🕶 Your work ethic towards the channel is very awesome, it's best when the work ya put in has a return, glad u found it. 😀 I think those hooks were for the swing on the porch? Was that the same actor from Boy meets World?
He come to the land of the ice and snow From the midnight sun with Florida springs flow. The hammer of the Woo. Yeah, I’m not proud of that humorous attempt either.
Adam great topic you covered and the scenery in the areas you went was quite the sights to see and the snow added a lot to the beauty of the area but what was so special as is always the case with you is how much you knew about the topic at hand also it’s such a pleasure to see you so happy finally being able to do what it is you love so much so thanks again Adam for covering such an interesting topic now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next Adams Big Adventure also please be safe out there
That was exciting! I could spend a couple of hours in that general store. Having a sudden urge to engage this evening with viewings of Cabin Fever and Detroit Rock City.
Adam, you had me so nervous on the ice, especially at that area where you could have gone down, down.....🥺 I thought well he made it or this video wouldn't be on today!🙂
Adam this was such a kool video, and to see and hear the excitement, in you made it more fun, now I must watch cabin fever, again,,, stay safe friend, look forward to the next video,,,
Awesome video, this was the 1st horror movie I let my daughter watch and we love your videos so much Adam, now she's hooked on you too. We watch your videos everyday. We send our love to you, mamma and dad woo and especially Big the Foot.
That you do that kind of stuff all alone … 😳 no way! The general store was a treasure. Really loved that place. And giggled over you and the dog 😄 sorry ☺️ x
