Thunder Mountain Summit is a 7.6 mile out and back trail located near Kirkwood, California. The trailhead is right off of Highway 88 after Silver Lake and before the turn for Kirkwood. This trail gains over 1700 feet in just under 4 miles and features some incredible views, especially from the end. Teresa and I were joined by our kids Katelyn and David. This trail is also dog friendly, so our daughter brought her dog.
