The lacy curtain and steep plunge of lower Falls Creek Falls is more than ample reward for this easy hike in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest of Washington State.

THIS HIKE
Open from April thru December, Falls Creek Falls hike makes for a pleasant day trip early or late in the season. If you do the full loop to the upper falls you'll hike 6.2 miles and have a gross elevation gain of around 1800 feet. If you hike just to the foot of the lower falls, you won't even see the full 335 feet of the falls. To see the upper 109 foot tall tier you need to take a connector trail up to trail 152. This connector is in great shape due to some trail maintenance by Washington Trails Association. For more information on the hike please visit: www.hikingindepth.com/2020/05...
For up to date trail conditions you can find more information at the USFS website: www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/giffo...
このコーススタートはステブラー村の近くにあります。長さは6.2マイル、標高のゲインは1800フィートなので簡単です。大きな古い木々や素敵な滝があります。

Great job on all of the videos, they are more like films. I dig the extra trail history and info as well. You really have a talent for this.

Thanks for the kind words, that means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. I want to do more in depth videos with history, but the research takes quite a bit of time so I'm a little slow to produce them. 😅

Beautiful! The music takes away from it though. Share those nature sounds too, please.

Good job. I gotta get up there. I would like to fish that creek and see what trout reside there. I live in White Salmon and I have a pair of Pileated wooodpeckers that hang out around my neighborhood year round. Thanks for the video

Thank you! My guess would be cutthroat, especially above the falls, but I'm not sure if it was stocked. I think there is a fish hatchery just up the road from stabler though so maybe it was stocked sometime in the past? I love pileated's, such a distinctive look with a great call. I feel like I mostly hear them though as they take off before I get too close!

@@Hikingindepth Cutthroat would be my guess as well. They don’t usually stock the high streams that I’m aware of. Pileateds sit on the telephone pole outside my house and talk and hammer in April and May and then they go down into Jewett creek canyon to nest and raise their kids. Then I see em around off and on all fall and then they lay low until next spring. Good stuff

That's not my cup of tea, but I can imagine it would be pretty spectacular! Those middle tiers would be cool to hang out on as virtually no one has gone there.

I'm going to hike this in a couple weeks (camping at Paradise Creek) so I googled some info on it. I'm so glad I found this video - very, very well done! Great photography, interesting choice of music, but the historical info makes it come a little more alive. Thanks so much for putting this together.
