Glad to hear you found the legendary Strands Inn to dry off & refuel. I spent a good few years lodging there as a second home whilst on work business. I may of even stayed in the tiny granny suite also! 😎👍

Only a few minutes in... the atmosphere of walking the Wasdale screes with the cloud wrapping around the crags above you, that memory has stayed with me decades.
Not been out camping since November as I got a pup. Been out day hikes but been talking myself out of going out camping. Finally got my ass out on Friday after watching these lakes series of vids and inspiring me. Didn't realize how much I needed it till I was out. -3 with slight dusting of snow at 650m on Millfore in the Galloways and another Donald ticked of the list. Loved every minute of it and had the best sleep I've had in weeks. Cheers for the inspiration 👍

Take care god bless, most youtube outdoor channels in uk park there car 100 yards away put tent up make some food and pack up and go, your cross country adventures are the best for me another level, nobody would of even new if you didnt say, shows the top lad you are hazey 🇬🇧❤👊 You can see why people are buying boats and building campers, people have had another of working all week just to survive, find your way out and dont look back
Good effort Paul and a great watch. Last October I climbed Pillar with some friends starting and finishing at Gates Garth Farm. We much of the route you did and also visited the Black Sail youth hostel, which although empty was unlocked. We made a hot drink and left some money in the honesty box. I couldn’t help but feel how wonderful it was to leave the hostel open until the warden returned later that afternoon. It’s a gorgeous part of the world.
You’re a brave lad through hiking in February.. however you had the whole route to yourself it looked like!! Noice! The dead sheep in the lake was a classic ‘medic’ too! 😂
Being an old git some of my best memories are of trips when the weather was bloody awful. Getting through the wet and the cold builds self reliance and you lose the anxiety about your ability to cope. The next level of learning is you can just bugger off to the pub for the night if you want to. Quality content as always mate.

Beautiful footage. I spent all of my teen years living near the coast of Oregon, and the weather you hiked in reminded me of that. I got used to running around in weather like that. The cold wind, rain, fog, just absolute soup sometimes. It was magical like your footage, everything as far as the eye can see pops, the rocks, moss..so vibrant. Even the fog rolling in is so beautiful. I appreciate you. Thanks for sharing another lovely video. Keep being true to yourself and your journey.
As soon as I saw the Wastwater segment I recognised it before you said anything. I did a wild water swim in there at the end of April last year. It was so invigorating it helped me get over a 4 month period of MH hell and set me straight again. You can not beat getting outdoors to help shake of the stresses and pitfalls of life. 👍

Love seeing UK countryside i was lucky when i lived in hull having grandparents in ross shire Scotland got us out the city as kids...since i've been in france am taken back by nature and love your videos Haze UK is as beautiful as anywhere,. ...looks like the lakes was hotboxed 😆

Fair play for hiking that in winter, it's amazing just how much longer it can take, for the number of miles you went forward I bet you did just as many going sidewards 🤣
Another bit of quality content Hazy - I like winter walking in the Lakes as far fewer crag rats about this time of year :) camping is pretty miserable though. You're not wrong about the journey on the 555 though, it's a corker and it stops right outside my house

Nice one Hazey great video. Love that area, first time in Keswick at 18 years old, adventure training in the army when undertaking basic training in 1983. Can't keep away from the place it just draws you in. Take care pal..

Loved Part 3, proper motivational to get out again, although did get myself out in the snow today for a short 5 mile stroll, as always the hardest bit is getting to the start line and once that first step is taken its like' I,m back'. Love the narration chief, you just saying it how it is and what ever you are thinking about, I relate to that, even talk to myself out loud when in the hills alone, a great way to think out loud, but actually say it, with no fear of being overheard! Glad I stumbled across your channel, love the uploads and catching up on some of the earlier ones! Thanks man, appreciate it!
Without doubt the single most proudest moment of my life was when my son cried out Medic at a random corpse at the side of the trail. Thanks for warping his fragile little mind Haze. He’s going to be ok 😋

I, for myself say that I’m as flexible as a garden hose, only not under pressure; ‘cause then I’m just like Starbucks, all over the Feckin place! Lol! Enjoy mate and stay supple! 👣🦉👍😎
I found a pair of Salomon Gore-tex trail runners fairly cheap (for Salomons). Combined with some gaiters, they kept my feet reasonably dry considering their low-quarters. Comfortable enough and light enough for me during hikes. Don't know if I could do a hundred miler in them though. May be something to test this spring. Keep on trucking Mr. Haze.
I hear you. I did the Cleveland way last November. First 3 days were dry and sunny but then it rained solid for 2 day and I was depressed at the though of another night in a tent at 5pm til light at 7am so I had a hotel in whitby and Scarborough and do you know I really enjoyed it that way 😀
