Hiking the Ice Lake Trail with my German Shepherd in Late September. This is one of the most beautiful trails in the San Juan National Forest with EPIC views all the way up. My dog loves this hike and we met many other dogs along the trail.

Yes, even when he was a puppy, he always look back for me. No training was needed. They are great hiking partners and will never leave you behind. 🥰

Beautiful Colorado. What a wonderful life you are providing for Rocky. Not to mention for yourself too. I visited Silverton in the early 2000's. Back then I was told by a local that they had a growing season about 12-14 days long. Don't even know if that was accurate. With global warming, I wonder if that # of days has grown. Continued happy and safe travels for you both. Thanks for letting us all come along with you.

Glad you like it. The day after I finished the hike, snow came. It will be more difficult but the scene will be even more EPIC with snow top mountains.

@sewtrue, I am on my 6th German Shepherd. I would never ever take him hiking where he could possibly slip and fall to his death. In this video there were many steep cliffs. I love my dog to much to risk going hiking in such a steep and high mountain area. Freak accidents do happen all to often!!!!
