My greyhound was a fantastic walking companion. The deal I had with him was that on the way out, he could run around sniffing and marking everything to the extent of his long leash, but on the way back he had to walk with his head right next to my knee. He learned to do this very quickly and seemed just as happy. I miss that old guy.
Poor dog on leash. He needs to go and smell things. My greyhound and all the my friend's greyhound are never on leash. What is that total bs conspiracy going on among greyhound people?
I agree. Most greyhound owners are told to never let them off the lead. I’ve worked with two rescue Greyhounds and trained them not to chase animals and stay on the path…..well most of the time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MKWEhpG_fTI.html
I keep mine on a retractable lead and a harness, he has a high prey drive and will chase anything furry. I don’t want him chasing something and breaking a leg or running into a fence or getting lost because when they are on the chase, all they see is what they are chasing not where they are going.
