Great video Aaron. Thanks for teaching me some of the most important things I've learned in knife making. You're a brilliant dude, God Bless You, your Family & Hank! 🧡🔪

More important than anything knife related is your positive philosophy on life. It resonated with me that you take the time to appreciate the memorials of others and to give gratitude for your own existence. Life is a beautiful thing.

And nothing makes you reflect more on your life and others then a good old fashion hike in solitude. Here we are today on September 11 Another day to never forget

@@AaronJohnson1979 Well said. I can't believe it was 21 years ago. Seems like time is flying by and the older I get the faster it goes. I wrote down in my journal this morning just what you said; ""Never Forget... 21 Years ago." I appreciate your video of hiking in solitude very much. Thank you for the positive philosophical appreciation of existence. It resonated deeply with me.

Good to see you getting out with the family and enjoying the earth for what it is and also the fact that you finally made yourself a knife to carry and use! I'm super stoked to hear how you're liking it I know that I love mine you made for me!

Mmm flog some more sweet magnacut blades so you can get a legit gortex rain jacket ! Plastic, brah... but yes, agree, back to basics is more than fine and even a little living rough in the wilderness is freedom compared to the poor b-stards having to fight for the bare basics in their homeland right now. Heart breaking. Yields appreciation for what we have.

@AaronJohnson1979
@AaronJohnson1979 2 года назад
I like it it could be a little bit thinner but Bed detention is pretty good still and it does cut good but I think it could cut much better if it was just a little bit thinner maybe even sharpen it at a lower angle
@kevinAuman1
@kevinAuman1 2 года назад
@@AaronJohnson1979 well give err a whirl man, worst case scenario it takes some rolling or chipping and then you just hone or strop it till it reaches an angle where it holds up then just maintain that angle... This steel definitely does cut better and longer the thinner you can get it and as long as you're not intentionally trying to cause edge damage and just use the knife then it should take damn near any level of thinness that you can give it lol I have to admit I was skeptical at first too thinking there's absolutely no way that this knife will hold an edge longer if I remove more steel but it certainly is true with magnacut

I see that hip belt on the backpack isnt sturdy enough i carry 35 kg in my pack without any problems. But my norrøna pack is made for heavy carrying. Your backpack isnt made for it also the shoulder straps arent wide enough. But looked like a hard awesome trip mate the knife looked good all the way. The waterfall shelter haha speechless there If i ever get some money il invite ya to norway and we will sleep by the sea for a night or two.
@AaronJohnson1979
@AaronJohnson1979 2 года назад
Ill definitely take you up on that, and you’re right I couldn’t get enough weight off my shoulders I tightened my hip belt as tight as I could get it and it still didn’t take enough off my shoulders my shoulders really cut into my neck hard I’m sore lol
@knifesharpeningnorway
@knifesharpeningnorway 2 года назад
@@AaronJohnson1979 yeah many backpacks arent made for carrying heavy loads. The need a adjustable frame that adjust for height. Needs a swiweling hip belt thats really padded and nice samme with the straps over the shoulders etc needs to be close to your body and fit good
