Hikity 9 Inch CarPlay and Android Auto One Year Review and Overview
In this video, I give my review of owning and using this wonderful head unit at an amazing value from Amazon. It is one thing to give a review, but it is another to do a one year follow up video with an overview as well.

My 9" HIKITY head unit was advertised to have 59 UI Themes. I don't see settings for that anywhere. Also I bench tested it. It is supposed to be android 13 with 8 cores. However it is Android 12 with 4 cores. Fortunately it actually has the 6GB-ROM and 128-RAM as advertised. Other than that, it seems very good on the bench so far. Tip: The super long wire for the backup camera is the WIFI antenna. If you didn't get the optional backup camera, then you need to figure a way to connect a wire for it.

@@christravels360 - A3533 is the number on the head unit sticker. The box has the same number as well, but it is about 8 more characters longer. I'll be making a full video of this unit once I get time to install it in the car.

Hello! Thank you so much for your compliment. To raise the volume, press the button with an image of a speaker and a + on it. To lower the volume, press the buttons with an image of a speaker with the - on it. For "Mirror Link": According to the owner's manual, this unit works by connecting your cell phone to the head unit using an "original USB cable" and pressing the A-Link button on the menu. Follow the instructions to download the Autolink app to the phone. Hope this helps!

I m looking to buy a Hikity 8 core 6+128GB double Din Android 13 car stereo with wireless Apple Carplay, 9-inch IPS touch screen. I can't tell if it is compatible with my 2018 Toyota Corolla. I will be getting in touch with the Hikity store. I hope they can guide me through this process 🙏

I got the unit yesterday Friday, but it came in a box different from yours. No name brand, or model number on the box. I purchased a separate plug and play wire harness. I'm still waiting for a bezel facsia for my 2018 corolla to start the installation. The box doesn't have the specs of 8core,6gb,128GB on it. The instructions book has multiple numbers, which I think it might be right. I'm not sure,but I will see when I get it installed. It looks cheap. I purchased it from Amazon for $199. Bbbut i Plus $46. For the bezel facsia and $19.00 for the plug and play harness. I hope it will work in my wife's 2018 Toyota Corolla SE.

Hey! Thanks for the update. I think it was wise to purchase the wire harness. Saves on cutting and makes installation SO much easier. The unit may appear cheap, but they pack quite a bit of tech in that box. At least with mine. (Still no complaints) Sounds like you have an awesome project going! I can't wait for the next update!

How do you access Google's Play Store or Apples App store? I am looking to install apps like Onyx or All Trails to the unit for trail navigation.

Hello! Thanks for your question. I use Apple CarPlay and have never installed anything directly inside of CarPlay. I just installed the app on my iPhone from the App Store. After I connected my iPhone to the Head Unit, everything was just there. I believe the App must support CarPlay to appear. According to Apple's site, it states "Compatible third-party navigation apps appear on CarPlay Dashboard while in use." I hope this helps!

Sir. Any tips on Dash Cam video recording? I recently purchased a different model from yours, but I'd imagine operation is the same. (Hikity Wireless Carplay Android Auto Portable Car Stereo, 10.26 Inch HD Car Play Screen with 2.5K Dash Cam, 1080P Backup Cam, 64G TF Card, Loop Recording, Airplay, GPS Navi, Bluetooth, FM, AUX) I've been searching EVERYWHERE for anything about the Dash Cam operation & am coming up with NOTHING. Specifically, recording. I'm still doing my own looking up on terms & the like, but any hint or nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Bless you & your family.

Hello! The unit you purchased looks incredible! I use my Haloview system to record around my RV, so I will do my best to give a few suggestions. Your system appears to require an SD card as this is where the recorded videos are stored. The same is with my system, but I need to enable recording. Check your system, maybe the options/settings for recording/saving options. Also with the Haloview system, there is a menu to play back the recorded files. I can also insert the SD card into my PC and/or Mac to view the videos as well. How did you make your physical buttons on the right turn blue in color?

Hello! That is the color it was when I installed it. I never changed it. There is a setting I believe that allows you to change the button color. Thanks for asking!
