Dude that's sick! I've avoided installing a double din because I park on the street and don't want to give someone an excuse to mess with my box but a setup like this one makes me think twice about it. I would really like a follow up on the dash feature when you get a hand on it. Good luck with next week's vid, changing the rear speakers sucks but is worth it with the boost to the rear sound. Your vid on changing the front speakers a few years back was actually the first XDD vid I saw, I hadn't even gotten my box yet but wanted as much info on them knowing I was going to get one. Thanks for all the kick ass content dude!
Thanks for always watching, JC! I have never replaced the rear speakers in this car so I'm actually looking forward to doing it. I have all sorts of cool new stuff to go with all the new speakers that will hopefully make a difference. Stay tuned!
Hello EDD, I recently found your channel by chance and enjoy the content that you make! I just bought a used 2005 Scion xb today. I'm definitely gonna buy and install the mods that you used in your vids for mines also. Keep up the great content and have a nice day!
Wow man that's cool!!! I bought a cheap boss unit that has a bunch of RCA hook UPS on the back and then I bought a little small $70 mirror link works great but it looks like yours is actually the type that I want to get Thanks you gave me a great idea for my next install.
#TOASTAATOOSDAYY‼️💪🏼😎 Looks dope! 🔥 ordered a cheap sony sterio and some speakers from Crutchfield on black friday and should arrive Saturday! Have stock radio and only 2 working stock speakers so big upgrade! 😂😅 Bless up! 🙏🏼
I'm so happy I found your channel. I recently got another xb, I traded in my original 2005 one years ago and wanted to cry when I was able to get another one lol. This is gonna be my project car so def subscribing for more tips. If you don't mind its getting harder to find parts online compared to back then, I wanted to ask where is a good place to get your rain gurads?
Welcome aboard! Parts are definitely much harder to find, but nothing compared to some other cars, like my Prelude. I always start with Amazon and eBay. Good luck with the build!
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I just bought a 7" inch and got it in the mail today. Soooo.... There's no indash kits these can fit in? I'm also trying to put this in my Nissan Altima 2008
I bought this. It's amazing. But have you figured out how to have the navigation voice directions play and mute the radio/music/pandora so that you can actually hear them. Or is it possible to have the directions louder. I think I already have the slider all the way to the right.
Man, that is awesome! I kept wondering what it would look like on my 06 xb. I'm gonna go online now to buy it. I think 9" is a perfect size. 10" is too big. So size does matter. Can't wait to see what you will show us next. Thanks ;)
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I love where you have your phone holder. How did you do that? I saw you before placing it more towards the middle. What kind of holder is it?
Dope install . I stuck my gps on that square pop out tab thingy in the passenger shelf. Just pop out the tab put a small notch on the side that faces the driver to tuck the wire into the dash comes out really clean no one ever notices unless I point it out
Great videos. I own an XB myself. How do you still like the radio? Any issues/ concerns since the install to now? Any experience with iPhone connectivity on that unit?
I just installed this for my wife last night. Super cool radio. But extremely hard to set up so far. Any tips? Specifically, time is displayed in military, and how do I access the WiFi settings? Any info would be more helpful than amozon cs
Good video. I installed the 10-inch HIKITY in my 2017 GMC Sierra all good, But having problems with connecting my phone to the head unit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I'm bench testing one just like that. I did buy a custom dash board facia for my Toyota, so mounting will be a perfect factory looking fit. The one I have is the newest version, and the instruction book now says that the backup camera plug with the short blue wires is the WIFI antenna. If you don't have the optional camera, then your signal will be poor or none at all.
Hello, I enjoyed your review... Beautiful set up! I wanted to know if this unit is universal and compatible with most or any vehicle? I have a Toyota Camry and I would love to upgrade my stereo.. I have one now from dual (7inch) so I was curious if it would be compatible to be installed in my vehicle too
I had that in my box few weeks ago, to be honest I didn’t like it, too much trouble to install it and couldn’t make it to stay and messed up my dash a little bit, didn’t like the sound either, I went with a blaupunkt brand and it was $180 with Apple car play and fits perfectly due to be a real double din, thanks for the vids man.! Keep it up.!

Hey man, what kind of paint did you use for the trim? I know you got rid of the Scion but don’t take these videos down! Your videos have been my only hope to revive my box. Thank you!
how do you have that phone holder installed? and which one is it, thanks for the video I am about to install the 10.1 inch hikity and was wondering how to get it attached and get the trim back on :) glad I found your video.
Hey man. I have a first gen box and I was hoping you could help me on how you mounted the touchscreen? I did go with the 10in but I'm stumped on mounting it. Love all the videos for Toaster Tuesday's thank you for sharing..
Do you remember if you screwed the head unit into the waterfall? I’ve got the 9 inch unit and I’m trying to get it mounted in my 2006 xB. I’m thinking using the included mounting brackets as a bridge between the stock radio bracket and the new head unit.
Ok i need help, i have the exact same radio and well mine came with a auto dim feature that the guy installed himself from when i bought the car but now he told me to cut a wire which is the auto dim feature n its still dimmed, i can barely see the screen so i know it works i just kinda want to be able to see the radio
If you are using a samsung device set up a bixby routine to start/stop your hotspot when your phone connects to the units bluetooth- if your not using a samsung device then an app like tasker can do the same function
For your OBDII dongle you may have to go into your headunit and change the bluetooth pin to 1234 if its set to 0000, and vice versa if the other way, just to pair the device then you can change it back to the default pin. Give that a try. Goodluck!
I have this same radio and I bought a skar audio equilizer to go with it. I got power to the skar equilizer but can't control any of the sound. I was wondering if you can even use a aftermarket equilizer with it?
How did you exactly mount radio to the outer housing? Took apart and have no idea to where exactly I would make the holes that you said you drilled into to make radio stay in place….
Definitely need helps with mine like how do I change the layout and customize different things where do you go to find out? How do you customize? And also add my family photo in the background
Is It possibile to switch on and switch off the radio with the touchscreen Power button? My radio switch on automatically when connected and if I touch the Power Botton to switch It off It only shows ma a screensaver but the radio goes on working. Is It possibile to change the settings? Thanks..
Do you or anyone feel like the display is heavily affected by the viewing angle? Yours looks more vertical in mine but I find that for my backseat passengers or even me in drivers or passenger seats I get a darkening of the screen kinda like the first generation flat screens which had a dark display of you viewed at certain angles.. so do y’all have the same viewing angle problem ?
I made a video on how to install the backup camera. Just search the channel. Everything else is done via wifi. It's very easy. It's exactly like your cellphone. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video I just ordered mine, but it's the 9inch like your, may I know if it fully support an ios or is only made for Android user since it doesn't say it supports an ios in the listing discription like the 10inch
I bought the $179.99 unit from Amazon made by Hikity. It has an orange KEY2 cable coming from the power harness from the back of the head unit. I have no idea where to connect that to in a 2011 Honda Accord EX with no navigation. The only other wire coming from the harness is a pink wire that is not labeled. The other wires Reverse and Antenna or labeled. Any advice? I haven't taken the care apart yet but trying to do all th research I can before starting. I guess the KEY2 wire has to be connected somewhere for my steering wheel controls to work.
When I hooked mine up it wouldn’t turn on an off with care I had to run yellow red together in orde for it to power on an I gotta cut it off manually when I get out car what am I missing
I have a Honda Ridgeline 2006. I bought the 10.1 Hikity car stereo too. Please could you HELP me telling me the cables connection and where your connect it (in case): 1)The Yellow B+ go straight to car battery or to Yellow that say battery/constant 12v my harness is Harmony HA-701721 2)The Red ACC go to the Red ignition/switch from harness 3)The Black ground to the to the harness Black cable? or I have to take to the chassis? 4)The Brown cables (Key-1 and Key-2) some people say is for wheel steering bottoms. Also, did you connect and where your connect (in case) the yellow cable (Memory) from harness. I understand I don't have to connect the pink/white (Dimmer) cable. Please could you let me know. THANKS. You have a great video!
I can't remember, but I did follow the directions that came with the unit and everything worked fine. I would recommend finding the wiring schematic for your Ridgeline and matching it up with the Hikity directions. I did a video on how to hook up an amp and sub and backup camera to the headunit. You might want to try watching that to see if that helps you with your install. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Hey I installed one of these in my 2009 Tacoma and I haven’t figured out how to get steering wheel controls to work. Have you managed to get it working on your car and how? Also do you find the clock doesn’t stay updated while the car is off? If you got any advice I’d appreciate it thanks!
@@1dubstep Thanks so much! Any chance you could link me to the harness that you used? Also have you managed to get the radio and GPS to work? I literally only have Bluetooth functioning right now.
You might want to research the forums a little more. I had issues with installing this head unit because of the jbl synthesis system and i had a dead pin for the remote wire so it wasnt getting power from the head unit itself. I rerouted the wire to another power source and it was fine after. The build quality for the harness that came with the unit is junk it didnt fit right but i knew that with cheap knock offs id have to make things work
@@1dubstep True, I appreciate the help I’m pretty sure I found the harness on the forums and I realized I never received the GPS receiver! The only thing left is I’m not sure how to get signal for the AM FM radio do you have that running?
Connect the stereo to the internet, go to the Play Store, and search on Android Themes. Once you find an app you like, download to the stereo and then use the app just like you would on your phone. Thanks for watching!
In Settings, there is an area that says "Wallpaper" I connected my headunit to the internet, sent myself an email of the pic I wanted to display, then opened my email on the headunit, downloaded it and then went into Wallpaper and picked the pic. It's no different than how you would do it on a computer. Good luck!
Okay so I bought the 10.1... everything is great... except for the 3.0 usb flush mount extensions that you used. I've hooked mine up to multiple other devices and they work flawless. But when hooked to the hikity usbs from the radio they do nothing not even charge..... and advice would be nice.. thanks in advance..
I still haven't installed mine. I'm not sure why they wouldn't work. Did you know there was a SD card slot on the left side of the Hikity? One of my subs pointed it out to me in person. I had no idea.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers nonid didn't know but that's a bonus about these. Just wish that flush mount would ha e worked I working on cannibalizing it to save the flush mount an use it as a sleeve for the stock extension. 😕
I did this install. Do you have any volume issues playing spotify off the head unit? For some reason, the sound is very low and the EQ does nothing to fix this. Strangely, when I play spotify off my phone into the head unit, it sounds normal. It just sounds horrible playing spotify off the head unit itself. Any advise is appreciated.
Make sure the volume on your phone is all the way up and maybe check out the settings in your Spotify app. I prefer Pandora and never have an issue with it. Good luck and thanks for watching.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Thanks for the reply. Yeah it is loud off the phone. When I use spotify off the head unit, the sound quality is bad. The EQ seems to not do anything. The radio works great though. I'll just bluetooth spotify off my phone for now.
I don't remember. Click the link in the description for more specs on the model. The stereo was working great when I sold the car last year. I have no doubts it's still working. Solid unit. Thanks for watching.
My friend. Have you try to install android auto onto the head unit and have you try to update android system? I can not get the USB cable to mirroring I can have mirroring working over WIFI. Also can not get android auto into the unit. Please help.Thanks.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Thanks, I'll give it a look. I bought a harness specifically for the xB so figured that's not the problem, didn't think to double check the antenna plug.
Hey i have a question Does the volume icons light up? I have the same Stereo and i love it but i don’t know if i have to connect something else to make the side icon light up I can turn the volume up or down easily at night
The car has been sold for a couple of years. There were no issues with the radio. Click the link in the description for the one I installed. I don't remember the how much ram it had. Thanks for watching.
