@bigtiii No, it picked them up just fine. It even remembered the names assigned to each camera.

@DIY SOLAR This hardware reset technique should work for all NVRs also such as Dahua, Swan, Lorex, Reolink, etc... Not just for Hikvision.

Try using SADP tool. You have to download and export xml file, send to hikvision, they reply quick usually within 24 hours with reset code

You are right, sometime they just save some monies and NOT install the reset push button switch. If you can locate the soldering points, modify a paper clip to a tweezer and short the 2 points.

Had mine 4 weeks exactly the same 8K 8Channel NVR sent from Annke in Worcester. I will open it up again to check.

Ok so I’m in the same position. Mine doesn’t have the reset button. Could you maybe describe where the soldering points are and exactly what to do with them because I’ve been suffering with this issue for a very long time

This hardware password reset button method will reset your pattern and password. It will NOT reset your camera configurations and recorded videos and events.

No, this reset will only reset your admin password. Your video footage will remain intact on your hard drive.

Try pressing it and then turn it on or power it up after you are pressing it and continue pressing it

Did you try with pressing the button and holding it while you plug in the power?

If your Hikvision NVR motherboard does not have reset switch, try to look for a jumper or just 2 points on the PCB board which does the same thing. Sometime Hikvision does not install switch on cheaper model.

@@DIYGEEKTEXAS hi. Thank you for the very quick reply. It is DS-7716NI-E4 16ch POE ..I dont think it is cheaper model.the board is yellewish.and there are lots of 2 ponts and 4 points jumber like solder:-)

@@user-rw1qs4qq6b Make sure the jumper has label like RST or RESET or PWD or PW on it. **DO NOT RANDOMLY SHORT JUMPERS** may damage your board.

Sometime they do not install the push button switch to save on material cost. But you can still connect the pins on the PCB board if they exists. However it is difficult to find the right reset pins.

@@redxblood85 Hi mate, so I've just figured out mine, but it requires you to contact your own country's hikvision support - Ensure PC is connected to same network (wifi or wired) - Ensure PC and NVR is switched on and NEVER Restart during the whole process. - Downloading Batch Configuration software - Installing Batch Config - Run as Admin - Click Forgotten Password - Export XML file - remember the program MUST NOT BE CLOSED DURING THIS WHOLE PROCESS - forward XML file to Hikvision Support - Await receipt of key XML FILE - If you're lucky they'll reply within 1-2 hours. if you're not. do NOT Close the program! cause you'll have to resubmit the XML FILE AGAIN. - load XML FILE from Hikvision into forgotten password area - Reset Password. and win

SADP tool takes a long time and more work to reset password.

Some NVR do not have hardware reset button, then you should use SADP to reset password. However SADP takes longer as you need to export XML file first, email to Hikvision and get password reset code.

Ok, but because i am a HIKVision dealer i usualy only take 5 to 10 minutes to get reset code in workdays.

@@cctvpapuaindonesia I have about 3 Hikvision system bought from authorized dealer in 2018, but the dealer went out of business. I tried to use SADP tool to recover password for a bullet camera. Hikvision replied telling me it was purchased from un-authorized dealer. Basically with Chinese companies it is buyer's beware, you never know who you are dealing with.

No all video footages stays and remain intact. This only resets the administrator password.

A lot of NVR has reset button on the PCB electronic board. If it does not LOOK for missing jumper or contact right on the board itself, usually next to the lithium cell battery.

Look for jumper points on the motherboard in case you have the basic/economical version where do not install push button reset switch.

If you do not have a physical reset button on your NVR hardware, try to look for a coin battery. Unplug the power, remove the battery for 15 seconds. Also look for jumper on the motherboard to reset.

As I can remember we used to get firmware from hikvision and flash the device with it.

No this will only reset your password. It will not even erase your settings (camera settings, labels, preferences, etc)

@Mas Kis Video recording tidak ada terhapus. Setting juga tidak terhapus. Ini hanya untuk reset password.
