please turn H.265+ or H.264+ off as this will cause that , also under hik connect on network > advanced > platform access , turn it off to check the encryption is not causing the issue 😊
Thanks for this, was having problems with a different RTSP format and tried the one you provided without authentication in the URL, worked first time and is perfect!
Thank you so much! I couldn't figure out what the URL was exactly till I watched your video. Now everything works great. Have to wait for it to stream and can't get it to be high bitrate on wireless but that's a network issue, not a camera issue.
Great Video @dvsltd - However, none of these options, either RTSP or HTTP work for me. When I go to the web interface I cant see the CGI option? Any ideas?
I am trying to embed the http snapshot image into a webpage but because the URL doesn't end with .jpg the image doesn't want to load. Are there any other ways to get this to work?
I might have missed it somehow but did you ever explain where to get the exact URL for a hikvision IP camera? Specifically the "/Streaming/channels/" part? Is that just a standard convention that all IP cameras follow? You explained the number and I understand the rest of the URL, it's just that one very specific part that I don't know if it's the same thing for every camera, or if you have to find that information in your camera's web interface somewhere. Thanks!
A question: if i add this live stream to my real website and then disconnect my pc, will i still be able to visit the website and watch that live stream ? Or pc and vlc must be open all the time?
It depends on how this is done, if you do it VLC via the PC then yes that needs to be running but most will port forward the camera so its open on the router , and pull the RTSP direct from the camera to the web service
I have a setup with a DS-7604 NVR, can this method be used within the Hikivison NVR to pickup a remote IP camera at a different location? So it shows as like another camera substream ?. Great video
Hi Dave, so I have gotten streaming working on VLC and another third party platform I use. In order for me to do that, I had to deselect encryption stream. So..if I wanted to leave encryption stream enabled, what would the rtsp string look like. I have the stream encryption key but cannot find documentation on how it would be typed or where it would be typed into the string command. The download file does not address it either. Maybe it is not possible to third parties. Thanks in advance
Great info. Does the camera need to be connected to a hikvison NVR or can then just be connected to the network for this SRTP workflow to work? For instance I have a 2MP Cube camera I would like to embed into a webpage.
Hi, hope you’re alright. Pls how can I get the RTSP for MIPC /IPCAM outdoor camera and Google Nest Camera? I want to integrate them to my Home Assistant dashboard.
Is it possible to access the RTSP streaming from a hikvision IP camera connected to HikCentral Professional, like a DVR? How? Does it need any special configuration in HikCentral Professional? I couldn't connect with you examples.
So far, so good, but you didn't show the resolution of that rtsp streaming (in vlc... Information... coding) Some dvr can only stream 720p. I am intersted to know if there are dvr with 1080p resolution for rtsp streaming.
Hello ! Thanks really helpfull, I have an issue, it works just when I am connected on local connection, and when I try with other connection it doesn't works, any ideas ?
Thanks for this very helpful video - I now have my stream embedded in my website but only one person can veiw at a time - is there a way to enable multiple views?
This is a good video. However, I have noticed a problem with HIKVision and their PVR's esp. in relation to the onboard PoE switch. It places those devices on a different network the LAN port which I have connected to my broadband and there appears to be no bridging between the two? I take it the only resolution is for all cameras and the NVR to be connected to the PoE switch such that IP addressing for the cameras and NVR can occur on the same subnet as the rest of my network such that I am then able to access those cameras via a stream on my network and beyond? any confirmation greatly appreciated. It's a shame in a sense that the onboard PoE will be defunct and in effect the PoE port capacity really serves as an indication of throughput i.e. the more native PoE the higher the throughput - however I digress!. Great videos by the way. You guys are good. - liked and subscribed :)
Thanks for the nice feedback , the virtual LAN for the on board POE is indeed separate and not connected to the LAN , do you want to take RTSP streams for each camera as you can still do this via the LAN connection of the NVR
Hii Dave, is the HIKVision model DS-2DE442IW-DE can stream to vlc too? cause till now I cannot stream the camera to VLC player. I have follow your instruction but is not working for me. Is any others suggestion for me? Thank you
Hi, This is driving me mad. I have tried everything, I cannot get an RTSP stream from VLC to work. I have a Hikvision NVR DS-7698NI-I2/8P with NVR4.0 and I've tried using the URL: rtsp://admin:****@192.168.1.115:554/Streaming/Channels/101 VLC just doesn't show anything but also doesn't show any error as-if it should be working. Please, any advice, I've been trying for ages to get this to work.
under the NVR web browser , under security set the RTSP and web from basic to basic / digest , and turn off HIK-Connect stream encryption if enabled, also make sure H.265+ is not enabled, if so change to H.265 😊
What cameras is this compatible with? We have been searching for an NVR camera system that works with OBS using RTSP to stream to Facebook live and so far we have bought two sets from Amazon and both have been rubbish and can’t get it to work at all. Totally stuck. 🤦🏻♀️
@@DVSLTD thanks for replying... this is really helpful. We have a very limited budget can you recommend the cheapest camera system that supports RTSP? Feel free to email. Portaltotheparanormal365@gmail.com
hi, do you know how to get the feed from particular given time interval using rtsp link, I am using the exact software to access the camera as you are using, thanks
I can’t access the ip cameras direct when they’re plugged into the nvr, the up cameras connect via the network and not direct work. No password need for some reason on mainstream?
Hi, thank you for this video. I have a question, do you know if the 'Integration Protocol' (where you enable Hikvision CGI) is available for all cameras?
Hello, not sure if this was asked but Im trying to view the stream in home assistant, It works fine on Iphone but when I try to view it on browser with HA it doesnt work. I have to change encoding to 264 for it to work. Is there a way to make it work with 265 ?
How can I get the max and min temperature values read with programming any language by the thermal camera. Is there any API (or something else) available for this
It's incredible how hard they make this. We need a guy from a shop showing us a word file to explain this basic functionality... They should just put auto-generated links to the different streams in the settings.
hi there! thanks for the video. ... Why in vlc a 1080p camera shows shrinked like 1080x1920 (1080 width). I shall rotate the cameras for optimal view?? 16:9'ish?
Thanks for the help! I got this setup with your help. I can view 3 cams, main or sub streams just fine but when i view channel 0, the resolution is rubbish. Any way to change that?
I have a Hikvision camera connected to OBS. It is displaying the date and time stamp on the output. The address we have in OBS is the IP and port but we haven’t got “streaming” etc How can we remove the date and time stamp?
Hi there. I have a following model DS-7216HUHI-K2. I have enabled 3 analog cameras and 3 IP cameras connect to the system. How can i differant the RTSP command for the 3 analog cameras and 3 IP cameras to view through RTSP?
Then you would type this into VLC for instance which worked for me - rtsp://admin:your PW@NVR IP address:554/Streaming/channels/101 assuming 554 in the RTSP port of the NVR
I am use a hikvision DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZ/P with ip remote, because it's not in my same lan network. When I open the address from my browser explorer, I can see image without problems, but when connecting it to my application c #: NVRCsharpDemo, it does not allow me to connect. I need help with this, please, I am a rookie programmer.
@@DVSLTD Wow thanks Dave! Though I have to admit, I was configuring a new iDS DVR with the webUI just to find out that some functions are only on the local ui ahah (also the BNC output did not work until the wizard on the local ui was closed 🙄, drove me nuts troubleshooting). Would it be possible to have Hik include everything in the webui in the future? (thinking of others that will have the same issues). Good day!
Can the RTSP stream be used with DDNS address? Would the address be substituted for IP address in the same format? I want to stream from a remote location where I am unable to get a static IP from a mobile SIM router.
In theory yes , you would use same stream but substiture the IP address with DDNS , we have had it working before along time ago , so only presume its still ok
Hi, Is that protocol support for DVR DS-7332HGHI-SH? if yes, pls show me how. and i need to send the photo of line crossing to send out to Telegram through this protocol. thank for your help.
Hi, we support RTSP across most of the products , regards line crossing can you not use email as it will attach 3 images then , the RTSP protocol is the same as the video , there is a document I can send if you like?
Hey! I tried it with different options but it's not showing anything on vlc and when I tried with http on web browsers it shows that site cannot be connect. What the problem could be?
could you please help me, I can´t enable RTSP on this DVR Hikvision model 7204hqhi-k1 it just Don´t have the options like in the video also all times I have tried to Streaming it with VLC trows me that i can´t Open regards!
Hi , for this you will need the document, but a NDA will need to be signed , you can speak to your local HIK Rep and they should be able to provide this 😊
Hi, Great video. When using VLC player, I can get the stream with no user name and password but can not get it to work when embedding those details. I know I have the log in details correct but it will just not work..... Any thoughts ?Cheers Dave
@@DVSLTD Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. We have a # in the password so maybe thats it...I will give that a go. My NVR is a DS-7308HUHI-K4, I don't seem to have the same Intergration Protocol settings as shown in you video and wondered if this was a problem as well. I only have the ONVIF enable and no Hikvision CGI settings.....
@@DiggerDave1968 That’s ok , yes try the password without the # and see if this improves it , you will also need to disable the verification code in HIK-Connect if enabled as that stops this working. Also on the web interface of the DVR under security set RTSP Authentication to digest/basic , and under network and advanced , network service , make sure RTSP is enabled , and use H.265 not H.265+ 😊
@DVSLTD I am also trying to stream directly from HikVision IP camera on website without using any NVR. I tried every thing but could not get success. Can you please help me here. I have camerais running on POE switch without any NVR. it is accessible through HikVision app but not accessible directly on webpages.
Hi! I have tried http streaming, is working but only 1 user can see the cam, next user will see error msg until first user close the browser. any solutions? Thank you!
Thank you for this useful tutorial. I can get everything to work apart from the http-with-embedded-login URL. Mine is the same structure as yours but I still get asked to log in [by Safari on MacOs].
@@mjair2009 We can use this on some devices, please make sure on latest firmware the RTSP function is enabled on the web interface and channel zero is supported and setup rtsp://IP:port/ch00/main/av_stream
hey hello good day, i have a question i have DS-KIS602 hinkvision and i would like to see on the screen my other ip camers about rstp. is this possible and if so how I hope you can help me and mischie can make a video of it. thanks.
you can do this. are they HIK cameras ? not tested no hik models but under device you can add device and select DVR / NVR , and then IP of that device , then channel number
it be ubiquiti cameras, and i have an rstp link from each camera but i don't think i can fill in this link if possible, can you show me how this works?
Pode ser utilizado junto com o obs Studio para fazer transmissões ao vivo, há também serviços de gravação em nuvem que fazem uso deste recurso para se conectar às câmeras ou aos canais dos DVR
is the port for HTTP still set to 80? If changed you need to use the :81 for instance or whatever port is being used, also can you use HTTPS ?, if so login and check that http has not been disabled inside the configuration menu of the device and network 😊
@@DVSLTD I have tried to my wits end to get the third stream rtsp using channel 103 on DS-2DE4A220IW-DE, but I still cant access it. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks so much for your reply.
http Streaming channels not working . its say "Access Error: 404 -- Not Found" . how can give access to http channel. rtsp working fine i getting problem on httppreview
Hi guys, wondering if you can help me. We actually just opened an account with you recently lol. Came across this tutorial but keep getting stuck when it comes to getting the video interfaces into my website without using a third party to restream it. I've the rtsp stream working and I've also a sub stream set to mjpeg. I'm having issues I think as I can not use without authentication. This I believe is only using one person to view due to the user details being entered and also this needs to be copied and pasted into my browser and not embedded into my webpage. Then again I'm running wordpress and there is and addon for embedding a web cam which in essence this is and it says ti enter my link. If gives an example without authentication. Suppose fist question is how to remove the need for authentication as this is stumping me or is there an easy way to integrate into my site and I'm missing it. Thanks in advance guys!
Hi Bro, This normally is when the web components fail , please try going to control panel and uninstall , then uninstall the web components, then open IE and go to settings and clear the browser cache , close and re-open , browse to the IP address of the DVR/NVR and reinstall the web components , close and re-open the IE and this should work , if still doesn’t work it could be port 554 ( or whatever has been used) is blocked / not forwarded , or if using old IE like IE 9 , then in IE options run it in compatibility mode, this should help
Hi, this depends on the model used, it’s mainly used for 3rd party integration , some models you have login to the camera and enable the 3rd Stream , is this enabled?
@@DVSLTD Yes, it is enabled in the camera. Third party integration is the reason I want to use it. I do have the cameras connected to a Hikvision NVR and I have virtual host turned on, but I can't find a way to get the RTSP feed from the third stream. Thanks in advance.
Username from Url is used but correct password is ignored Hi there. First of all many thanks for the great video!! But... I am using this URL: rtsp://Username:Password@IP-Adress:Port/ch1/main/av_stream in VLC. When hitting "Play", a "RTSP Legimit" window pops up. In the window the Username is already there, but password keeps blank. Entering the password in that upcoming window allows opening the stream. I double / tripple checked the users password in that URL is correct. So from the above URL username is taken over, but Password not. What is wrong (with me :-) ) I have tried it on Windows 10 and iPad Pro, both run most current VLS Player Can you please help
Hi peter, the stream to use username and password would look like this , please make sure the “encryption stream “ is off if using HIK-Connect also rtsp://Hikvision:guest@173.200.91.70:10554/Streaming/channels/1701 - get the main stream of the 17th channel (1st IP camera on the Hybrid Demo) rtsp://Hikvision:guest@173.200.91.70:10554/Streaming/channels/1902 - get the sub stream of the 19th channel (3rd IP camera on the Hybrid Demo
I am getting only one camera stream out of 4 cameras i am connecting from other network i have a public ip abd i put correct chanel nber and ip address
