The dude in the brown jacket doubted him, lmao. That’s why, as son as that engine cranked up he walked his ass off and the guy in the sweater got to smiling. He was getting ready to talk BIG shit and they all knew it 😂😂😂. If you’ve grown up in a small town, this is pretty standard. I guarantee you it started like this, “Man throw that old bullshit engine away, fawnky MF ain’t worth the time.” And that’s all cigarette man needed as motivation.
My dad was like this. Chuffing on a king-size cigarette with engine oil and lithium grease in his hair, with rock music playing on a beat up old radio, and the bottle green overalls that were so common in Britain. These type of dudes are awesome.
Anyone who has ever fixed anything with moving parts knows this feeling. It's like resurrecting and bringing it back to life, we feel like gods for a brief moment.
When I was a young soldier at Ft. Bragg North Carolina I had a 1968 mustang. A army buddy and I we were out cruising around way out in the country. Doing a few burn outs here and there. Just doing what young men do and my mustang quit running and we had no tools. This was back around 1984 so no cell phones. We got out and started walking we came to a garage it had about a half dozen old black men working on a old 66 Chevy impala. Then about 20 or 30 bikers showed up on crotch rockets. We thought we were gonna get our asses kicked. Those old men went with a wrecker and got my car and fixed it. I tried to pay but he wouldn't take my money. They all thanked us for serving our country. They had a engine in that impala that sounded just like that. They told us to come to the cumberland county raceway saturday and we could see it run. I saw it race three times and it won everytime.
Hello, brother! Your story literally melted my heart! I'm really happy to hear that the American men help each other like brothers. Greetings from Bulgarian V8 fan boys!
Yall probably eneded up in Spring Lake ,Eastover,or Some where in Sampson County,or Harnett County. We got some of the best mechanics out here and you will meet some good country folks too.
Shakespeare ain't got nothin on you brother!!! This is pure poetry from a true artist. I never met you man. Known you my whole life. I love this!! I aint laughed so hard, tears of joy watchin you triumph! Thanks buddy!
😂 And here I am, back at this video years later, and it's still legendary as hell😂. If you aint hittin at least a couple seconds of valve float while revvin your engine, you aint really revvin that thang!!
The look he had on his face when it fired up is awesome. It reminds me of my Dad and my Papa when they worked on the Drag car we had. They would look so surprised and happy when they would get it working again. Good times and great memories.
This guy is just like my grandpa, chilling with his buddys in the driveway, smokin a cigarette starting an old straight piped v8 and yelling at me thinking i know what hes saying.
I've got a 95 RX7 that I pulled apart 10 years ago. I'm planning to pick the project back up soon. I hope I look as confident as this dude the first time I start up the engine.
Yea thats what happened when I unplugged the spark plug on my single cylinder scooter. Took out the rubber boot to test for spark, forgot it was there, and I held onto the engine block. It did spark alright, but it also gave me a hella mean shock
That first look up after it started is the greatest thing ever unspoken. I can feel the "What did I say? What the fuck did I say?" wanting to come out.
I've been president of the united states since the 1880s but we'veall been where this proud man is at one point or another in our careers. Love this video!
@@badlydrawncars6460 you should put a video up of the bike. I feel your pain. Built an ‘86 Monte Carlo SS, enjoyed it for maybe six years until it was stolen. The 427 and all of the interior was removed, kids had been jumping on the roof. I was sick when I saw it at the impound yard
Speak for yourself ! This black loser is acting like that because he so surprised that the engine even started because he doesn't know jack-shit about what he's doing ! I GUARANTEE IT !!!
@Odin Thothdiesels sounds like someone left a toolbag inside of them. Nothing sounds as balanced as an I6 or v12. An In-line 4 gets that tone after 6-7k when on the 1-4-2-3 order. V-8s are great. So are v10s but only when pushed to higher limits of revs. Those v10s in the 2000’s Formula 1 were spinning 19k and screamed like a banshee. But if you dig diesels check out the pre war Grand Prix cars.
Those prewar cars were closest thing to a pod racer we’ve ever known. Huge gigantic engines sometimes from airplanes, hauling essentially a horse buggy around on wagon wheels. Crazy.
Any guy that can smoke a cig without using his hands and squints his eyes while working from all the smoke I’ve found is a master at whatever work he does
This is the kind of mechanic that rebuild a transmission in 1 hours and 6 minutes with just a screwdriver, a pair of pliers, and 3 packs of non-filter Camels.
Yup neighbors peering over the fence then the day comes where you touch that thing off for break in. All the neighbors over "that's kind of loud" Well ya f n a
I swear this was me when I cranked my first LS engine on the stand😂😂😂😂 The look on my son's faces, to see an engine run outside the vehicle, was worth every painful, time consuming minute. They looked as if I'd performed a never before seen magic trick. I love being a dad and teaching my boys about stuff like this
Vvhat hv u done brrrrr ? pls wasted ur time to spreads that darkness movie company in ur ovvn gl00my days , platform of nutfli × kept brainwashed certain teenagers on certain subjects area. I don't think that motor sounds like that. The sound was added in if u have ever put 10 grand in a small block still didn't sound like that ! That sound comes from a 30 grand and up price tag motor and it would have been on the ground from the torque swing again have u ever cranked a motor on a stand u won't rev a 700 plus HP 1 like that but 1 time and u WOULD BE picking it up off the ground promise you that!! Dont bleave me try it video it lol !!!
lol i got shocked by my ignition on my 4g63 think it was zapping through a bad ignition lead through the plug and somehow shocking me when i turned the key
Somebody told him “that thang ain’t goin to start, it’s just been sittin there getting dusty” and boss man lit his cigarette and said “oh it won’t?” 😂😂
