The fun part is that she does have everyone's attention and in this case people actually will remember what she was saying. Effectiveness of this security brief is 100 % and that is what matters. Great job !
At least 25 years ago on a Southwest flight the FA told a similar joke, but she said: "look at your children, decide which one has the most potential, and proceed accordingly."
I was on a flight. We hit crazy turbulence and they had to drop the oxygen masks. Everyone freaked out and helped themselves. In front of me was a 80 year old lady who was struggling to put on her mask. I got up and helped her put on her oxygen mask while everyone else only cared about themselves. And the oxygen was still on in the cabin. I then sat down and put on my mask. A flight attendant saw what i did and asked me what i wanted that i could have anything on the flight. peanuts, a drink, whatever. I asked her for a soda and peanuts. lol
I LOVE funny flight crew. Recently one said DID ONE OF YOU DROP THIS?? and when we all instantly looked up (after having previously been ignoring her) she held up that emergency procedures pamphlet and said, OK, NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION... 🤣😆
I’ve always enjoyed the safety announcements on my spirit flights 😂 The last one I was on joked and said made jabs at the company for getting the “free oxygen” in case of an emergency.

Our Spirit Pilot was hilarious! He said in the nicest voice,” if you decide that you don’t want to behave on this flight, we will gladly put you off. Now let’s go to Memphis and get some barbecue!😂best flight!

I work in a hospital, and, while I COMPLETELY adjust my demeanor to the situation, the patients, their family members, and the staff, LOVE that I bring humor, WHEN it is appropriate! We have, "frequent flyers", and they tell me they look forward to seeing me walk through their door, because I bring the smiles/energy, and I can make them laugh at a time when they need it the most. Flying is stressful, also. So, kudos to those who deal with the public, but carry a sense of humor with them! 💯🙃
Years ago I was on a westjet flight to Miami. The captain came on and said the standard " welcome aboard the craft ... on our way to Winnipeg " ... my heart almost stopped lmao "just seeing if you're paying attention" 😅
As someone living in Winnipeg I totally understand though we have had some Miami type temperatures this month (75 - 98 F). We've just substitued the water, beaches, trees etc. for dry prairies ... and more dry prairies lol
Flew to Canada not long ago so I realized Spirit doesn't operate in Canada. I would have been more confused than anything if I heard that announcement.
This would make me always want to travel Spirit... Not to mention if it were my first or within first couple of flights it'd actually help me remember this stuff too... I have had a few funny flight attendants they always make the flight so pleasant.
I never in all my short and long hours flights in 76 years of travelling, have had a flight attendant with any sense of humour st all. My last flight was in 2014 and the attendant's were like "I might be smiling but I'm just being polite". That's the most I ever received in any international or domestic flights. The worst was a flight from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Santiago, Chile on Lufthansa. The male flight attendant stank of rancid sweat, spoke German with his colleague sitting on one of the aisle armrests of an empty seat, paid no attention to the passengers and at lunch he brought us a whole unpeeled orange to eat with the food! Horrible experience. It happened like 25 years ago but I haven't forgotten his conduct nor his looks.
Really wish I had those type of flight attendants They really just make you totally relax when you hear things like this. Humor goes a long way in relaxing people in a tense situation. There was no situation yet but she made it her point to get through to people with humor It works.
If you restrict your movements in-flight to a minimum, your flight attendants will work their little fingers to the bone expeditiously dishing out those delicious delectable eatables that you just can't seem to find in stores.
Love these little fun instructions, you do tend to remember these things more My good one was using the normal dry info....then there was my plane, going from Phoenix to Grand Junction CO. The FA got to the point of a water landing,...the we all look out the windows...yup mountains, so laughter had all of us laughing so hard the FA put down the card she was reading from and said she didn't write this stuff but had to read it, INCLUDING THE WATER LANDING PART, you guessed it, NON STOP LAUGHTER for minutes as she shrugged her shoulders..started again so with good humor she called it quits. The part about a water landing, looking at snow covered mountains we figured it was moot point, but did hear little giggles pop up periodically here and there. You can have fun anywhere if you imagine the ludicrous part of life.
I have flown Spirit many time after discovering their business class seating, some of the best service in the airlines industry. Never again with the sardine seats that other carriers offer. Spirit Love Ya!
On a flight from the Bahamas back to Denver we had a flight attendant say over the speaker, "anyone missing a wallet?.................................................................Now that I have your attention". EVERYONE on that flight was definitely paying attention after that intro!
