Loadshedding is a scheduled power outtage and it is between 2 - 4 hours, once, twice or three times a day. It is section to another section not the entire town. Loadshedding is annoying because South Africa was the only country in Africa that had electricity 24/7. We are not used to this. Potholes are there but very isolated and mostly in the rural states. Our routes and main highways are tiptop. We as South Africans love to laugh at ourselves. We make small things a big deal to get it fixed. Those noisy birds are South African alarms. Seldom do they make such noise during the day but in the mornings and the evenings they are. The beautiful Chinese lady is copying that noisy bird (our fluing alarm). And when she dances it's our daily life. We dance when cleaning, dance when rioting, dance when in pain, dance in joy even after the funeral (after tears). We dance through it all. The small fleece blanket is a yes yes yes to all occasions. When cold we wrap it around at work, at home, to the shops, dancing at a party, at a wedding or chilling outside. It is always in our boot or backpack. We can't stand the cold around our waists. It is so fulfilling to eat with our hands. I love South Africa

The woman at 9:10 was imitating the sound of a local bird (headed a or ibis) whose calls are VERY loud. As her TikTok says …. "If you know, you know". That same bird can be heard earlier in your video where you were asking what that guy does for a job if his view is so beautiful.

The first ckip of potholes was in Asia. RSA stands for the Republic of South Africa. The noisy birds are called Hadidas and always make that noise. Load shedding are based on fases from stage 1-6(or more) They normally give out notice for the hours both during the day and night. Yeah we drive on the left. Stearing wheel on the right. Yes Eskom is our only energy provider and traffic lights are called robots. The no stopping sign is for taxis that just stop where ever they want.

Power outages are scheduled. Lower levels which are referred to as stages are 2 hrs long (sometimes twice a day) and the higher levels are 4 hrs long,in a day it can be planned out to be 2-4-2 when things are really hectic, but no one really likes these outages, worse we have a schedule, but we it still hits as a surprise. Luckily, shopping centres, hospitals have the back-up generators that kicks in. The animals in the township roam around freely - free range kinda vibe and no one steals them.

Talking about the dark side of SA. Someone should have done a video of all the security measures one has to take to guard one 's self and property from extremely violent armed robbers. Or at least CCTV footage of a hijacking at someone's gate. Besides loadshedding, hadidas and potholes the high rate of violent crime is what sets SA apart from any other country.

My daughter and I moved to the Netherlands almost 5 years ago and she actually to this day misses loadshedding. They have a schedule, though sometimes it can also happen outside of the schedule. Depends on how strained your area is. The stages these days go up to 8! Which basically means your electricity goes off 8 times a day for a minimum of 2 hrs. As much as she misses loadshedding, she loves having central heating and good WiFi.
