The "song" is an orchestra piece from the play Peer Gynt in 1878. Often used in cartoons and many other places. They are a bunch of trolls in the woods throwing various ingredients in a cauldron to improve their voices. The carrot at the end was Layne, the Carrot Lord (one of his nicknames) throwing it in the cauldron to make everyone disappear but it apparently backfires on him. Most all the videos where they have intricate make-up were arranged by Layne. Especially the Halloween ones. Elizabeth does have several songs out. I have 3 on my playlist. Two lullabies and Amazing Grace. She has an absolutely beautiful voice. She works at Disneyland in California and was in Orlando for a couple days so they did this while she was in town. The trees were actually tree branches from the trees at the Oviedo Mall where Pattycake Productions is located. Each tree is a branch.
There is a desire to classify singers and groups based on the style of music they perform. Absolutely impossible with Voiceplay. They can do anything and make it work. Elizabeth has performed with them several times, but this is the only time she's been on screen with them. When they've needed a high soprano descant, she has stepped up.
I think one if my favorite parts of this song is right after the guys all make different wierd noises, the look on Elizabeth's face you can just see her thinking "Boys 😒" 😂🤣😂 This is just a fun song to listen too and proves you don't need words to have an exceptional accapella song. Yes all three maskes from Kidnap the Sandy Claws are in the background.
"In the hall of the mountain king" (first played in 1876) is a piece of orchestrial music from Edvard Grieg, a Norwegian composer. It is part of the Peer Gynt suite, inspired by a dramatic poem from Hendrik Ipsen. It is a dream scene where the mountain king is in his hall, surrounded by trolls, gnomes, goblins and the like. The melody is quite simple and very repetitive, but it's increasing loudness and speed. @@ThalesMusicCorner Well, I was not aware that you - already knew it 💡 - already played it 🎻 - are Norwegian and that I should double-check unfamiliar names before sending. 😳
You should check out another acapella group called Home Free. Their covers and originals range from meaningful to funny. Butts Medley is one of their funny songs and Everybody Walking This Land is a great cover of theirs with a good message. If you watch it, watch until the end. Stay warm, take care and keep up the great reactions.
There are a couple of Home Free videos already up, and more to come as well. They are amazing too ❤️. I've added those songs to my list as well. Thanks 😁
One of my really amazing light-hearted videos from video. Since VP members have all worked the Orlando (mainly Disney and Universal) theme parks, they know all the best singers to set up their videos. If you haven't seen Frozen 2, Elizabeth isn't viewed but she does do the ethereal invisible part. In high school my concert band played all of the Peer Gynt Suite of which is one of the movements and my favorite. I still they should have been awarded some A Capella award for this.
I just love this one, I knew the original - but their take on it, with a 'storyline' to go with it (a bunch of 'trolls' brewing up a potion) that really seemed to fit with the music! I love the bit after Eli dropped in that huge chilli pepper to make it 'hot', that it was the moment it started to speed up the tempo! Yes, the Lock, Shock and Barrel masks from one of their Nightmare Before Christmas videos were hung up in the trees - which Layne and Geoff had to drag into the studio from outside the mall! They really had fun with this one - and it shows!
Poor Cesar had to have his ears refixed between takes, they were so heavy they kept slipping down. They really are just big kids. And no Elizabeth is not an operatic singer. She just sounds like one. :)
Yay! I consider this the best video VoicePlay has done so far. The way they integrated what's going on visually with what's going on musically, is just genius.
I love this song because there is obviously a whole story there, you can see them going back and forth, but it is muted. You are having to guess... although there are a few places it is easy to guess, like the pepper issue. It is a lot of fun.
This was so original. Of course, any chance Layne can get to make the guys use funny character voices, he takes it. 🤣 By the way, I really like your new animated intro card....if that's what you call it. 😁
Yeah, this was really one of their very different ones I’ve heard. So much fun when they play around with their voices like this. And thanks, I do try to evolve the channel and branding. eventually I should probably have something made properly instead of tweaking a template. But I’m not worried. I’ll have to keep the music though, I hear that as the channel in my head now. 😁
