Funny you should say that. It just so happens I'm 32 years old, and I still listen to this song. It's on my playlist, and it's one of my top favorite Hilary Duff songs.
And another thing, it doesn't matter if it's a song you listened a lot to when you were a teen. A good song is a good song. And there's no such thing as outgrowing music.
you're probably realizing time flies and life is short. I've kind of always known that but I just had it knocked into me two weeks ago when Joi, a truly amazing person (she was one of my cousins) sadly passed away. She was only 25. 💔😭
[Verse 1] In a moment, everything can change Feel the wind on your shoulder For a minute, all the world can wait Let go of your yesterday [Pre-Chorus] Can you hear it calling? Can you feel it in your soul? Can you trust this longing, and take control? [Chorus] Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life, and start to try 'Cause it's your time, time to fly [Verse 2] All your worries, leave them somewhere else Find a dream you can follow Reach for something when there's nothing left And the world's feeling hollow [Pre-Chorus] Can you hear it calling? Can you feel it in your soul? Can you trust this longing, and take control? [Chorus] Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life, and start to try 'Cause it's your time, time to fly [Bridge] And when you're down and feel alone Just wanna run away Trust yourself and don't give up You know you better than anyone else [Breakdown] In a moment, everything can change Feel the wind on your shoulder For a minute, all the world can wait Let go of your yesterday [Chorus] Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life, and start to try Fly Forget about the reasons why you can't in life, and start to try 'Cause it's your time, time to fly [Outro] In a moment, everything can change
Same!!! This one in particular from Hilary Duff didn’t impact me when I first heard it as a kid. I mindlessly listened to it, not understanding of what’s going on. Now at 21, going through a lot of shit (mentally), this song I feel like speaks to me for my current situation (optimism). But at the same, it’s depressing because I’ll never be happy, no matter what I do, unless I meet up my accomplishments: financially stable; license and car; and my love life that is non-existent (my first kiss). And after losing everything, such as a failed friendship, which I assumed would last forever because I used to be very close with this person, who I have quite in common, and a deceased dog, my mind has been suicidal. Luckily, my mom didn’t raise no quitter, so I’m just simply living and breathing at this point.
@@benarts2271 Things will get better Ben as long as you keep learning and trying. Be open to new experieces and new ways of thinking, because it's often through trial and error that we find what works best for us and what brings us the most happiness and success.
Such a positive message. Music companies do not even allow positive messages like this anymore. The question then becomes why, informed people know why.
It's 2020 and i'm listening to this during self-isolation as part of this f***ing coronavirus pandemic. Hope everyone is staying safe. This song takes my mind of things.. and wish we could Fly to a safer place.
@ Hey Yoshi Official .... So do i. I think 2003 - 2004 were my favourite years of music when it was fresh & new when i first heard of Black Eyed Peas, Nelly Furtado was still my favourite, Eminem, Avril Lavigne with her 2nd album released, Hilary Duff, Evermore & many others .... back when music *WAS* good to listen to & had some form of meaning to their songs but now it's shit & (since at least 2010) music has been copied many times over by many artists which still somehow produce 'massive hits'. Ahhhhh when 2002 was a much simpler time for me ...... just gone ....
Every time I hear this song it makes me cry. It’s crazy how we grow up so fast! It was so much simpler and happier back then. Feels like it was only yesterday when I saw this at age 12 for the first time ❤
It’s odd to me or just amazing to me how my younger self would sing my heart out these early 2000s songs. Now I’m 24, been through a lot of crap and I feel like I can’t catch a break but then I listen to these songs that I grew up with and seems like my younger self had a lot more confidence. Seems like I have to get back into that mentality cuz that little me knew what she wanted in life
I relate to that COMPLETELY. It kinda gets me down when I think about how confident I used to be when I was younger vs. now. I think (from my perspective) when we were young, we didn't have anything to really worry about, and no real responsibilities...but now that we're older, we're concerned more about status, security, etc...I think it hits us different!
This is kind of unrelated but I was reading your comment, relating and thinking I can’t imagine being 24 because it seemed so far away and Then it hit me. I turned 23 a couple days ago. 24 is a year away. My bf is going to be 24 in a few months. It was just yesterday I was listening to my Hilary Duff cds on a little battery cd player, playing with barbies and bratz and feeling at peace in my body. Time really flies. I try not to let my inner child fade and I think that’s why I come back to these songs I love and reminisce. I just hate how it feels like at one point the spark we have as kids dims and we have to fight to keep that light shining.
I took this song for granted and forgot about it. I actually remember seeing Hilary in concert in Houston at the rodeo years ago. This song is powerful. I’m 27 years old and needed to hear this song the most now at this time in my life.
Re-watching all of Hilary Duff's old songs - reminds me of when I was a kid. And, I thought all these songs would sound bad or weird now, but nope they are still awesome :) They stand the test of time lol.
Este era el Full HD de esa época jajaja en 10 años diran con chorrocientos mil K lastima los videos de 2021 no salieron en la epoca del super mega full HD
This feels so real. Sometimes i think i'm asleep. Miss these days, miss those people. Can't believe everything changed like this. I want to wake up from this nightmare.
In a moment, everything can change Feel the wind on your shoulders For a minute, all the world can wait Let go of your yesterday Can you hear it calling Can you feel it in your soul Can you trust this longing And take control Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life And start to try Cause it's your time Time to fly All your worries, leave them somewhere else Find a dream you can follow Reach for something when there's nothing left And the world's feeling hollow Can you hear it calling Can you feel it in your soul Can you trust this longing And take control Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life And start to try Cause it's your time Time to fly And when you're down and feel alone Just wanna run away Trust yourself and don't give up You know you're better than anyone else In a moment, everything can change Feel the wind on your shoulders For a minute, all the world can wait Let go of yesterdays Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life And start to try Cause it's your time Time to fly In a moment, everything can change
Open up the part of you that wants to hide away, you can shine. Forget about the reasons why you can't in life, and start to try. 'Cause it's your time. Time to fly ♥
I've recently been having a hard time in life and I felt like giving up on university, last night I had a dream of Hilary, and I went on youtube and typed her name in. This was the first song that came up, it made me feel so much better :) . I love you Hilary, I always have and will.
Hilary been a BABE since Lizzie Mcguire &after nearly 2decades, I'm STILL a HUGE fan. Her voice will never get old. I can put this track on repeat just like I did when I was 15. This music was &Still is very inspiring....especially for another female artist like myself. I love you HD, thank you🥰👏💯❤️🙏🥂
A timeless masterpiece of a song. With a great message. Sung by the first OG Disney Channel Mega star. Who never let it corrupt her and kept herself grounded and classy. She is just so relatable and if you can't relate you know someone just like her.
Mi recuerdo más hermoso, estar en mi pieza(casa de mis padres) y hacerme un mini recital de ella ♥ y esta canción es de mis favoritas, mi cd en el walkman, mi cepillo de pelo de micrófono y mis muñecos de público..
I genuinely forgot all about this song and I am a huge Hilary Duff fan. I'm ashamed, because I remember when this premiered on her website and I listened to it every single day through 7th grade. Music is a time machine.
Badass vibe, not afraid of real life, not obsessive or whiny or messy, just a remembrance of how many different ways you can encounter your inner strength and rise up to meet the day with passion ✌✌ a call to young people everywhere to believe in love and stay creative 🔥🔥
This song brings back so many mixed emotions and memories for me. I was 14 when this song came out. The song hits different now as a grownup. Still a great song and artist. Music like this never gets old!
I remember her being also discovered on Cheaper by the dozen and watch a bit of that Lizzie show. She's the best Disney pop star ever. She's in my top 3 Disney singers and her being as number 1, and then Demi and Ariana. Selena and Miley's music never did it for me.
