Hilary Hahn on “Paris” 

What a Legend this woman is.

Fell in love with her Bach recording years ago when she was still in her teens -- her tone had such a purity, cleaness, and power. Now she has grown into a mature lady with her own kids her tone seems to have an added warm and embracing color to what she already possesses. I appreciate the organic evolution of her journey as a musician and as a person.

She is a great talker. Very descriptive and easy to relate to. None of "and then xxx changes key etc." When speaking, she is precise but also emotive. Even before hearing her play, you know she will be fantastic. And these sessions really enhance the pleasure of the music.

I was glued to my laptop so much that when it was over I found myself hardly breathing because I didn't want to miss a word. I absolutely love love love hearing the backstories and ideas of how a piece was created. All of the heart and soul poured into it by all of the professional musicians feels like how I imagine the stars and galaxies dancing and moving when no one is looking. Just beautiful! Thank you, Hilary, for sharing your valuable time, all of this fantastic information, and your gift of music. Please take care and stay awesome! (Smile)

I wish I could afford to support her as well! I would practice with her for days on end playing all of the notes no one wants to hear untill everyone wanted to hear them. Hillary your love of music is contagious, thank you for that! And I hope I get to hang out with you someday!

I received the CD yesterday. Beautifully performed and recorded.

I like this CD a lot. As a small bonus to the music itself, it's very nicely packaged -- nicer to hold, nicer to look at, nicer to open and close than your typical plastic CD case.

Listening to Hilary live is beyond belief. Her musicality is so generous that everyone is not only invited, but compelled to enter her space. I've heard her on a huge stage (in Paris, by the way) and in a small room in Vermont, three feet away, helping a learning violinist to come up to her level. No pretense, no ego. Just love for the music and for helping others to see how to love it too.

Amazing vinyl version. 45 rpm, very quiet vinyl. I have listened to this album more times than any other I own. Magic. Anyone know about the recording process - microphones, cables, recording technology, where pressed etc?

Hi Hilary: Reference your recent needing sleep (100 days info). When I'm having trouble sleeping, if I start to hum tunes that I know or even make up new ones, the impact on my brain is one that causes a signal that indicates the brain is preparing itself for sleeping. It's possible, that the deeper breathing resulting from humming reorients the brain. Sleep isn't far behind. I'll bet you have a beautiful singing voice.

Hilary: Your two part interaction with us about scheduling sleep is extremely important. While it is hard to sleep during the same time period each night, it is probably difficult to do with your demanding schedule. Your working toward creating a schedule like you have by not starting something new after 10 PM is a good idea. Once you have done this for a while, the probability is high that you will find that the stability gained by sleeping during the same time each night ought to have a positive impact on your intentions about the work required when you practice. As you must be aware that the probability is very high that whatever you attempt, you will be successful. You are the only genius that I know of who has the guts to share your innermost thought processes with us. Your behavior is of historical significance. Wow.
