She is the sprinkles on the top of a sundae that makes it appealng. Without sprinkles it would still be a good sundae just missing that something only some sprinkles can offer.
You guys are the cutest couple I have ever seen. Your wife is absolutely adorable. And you Robbie are a fantastic friend and Boss. Hilbilly seems like such a great guy. he deserves the love. Wish you guys were closer, I would have loved to donate time and labor to fix his truck up.
Robby and Demri, great decision to take care of Hillbilly’s Trekker. He’s an invaluable part of your operation and prioritizing something for him goes a long way towards feeling appreciated! Robby, make sure Demri gets more air time in your videos too. She gives added pizazz to them!
Can’t wait to see the finished product. Request: could you update us about the outcome of the thieves who came to your brother’s property? Just a little chat at the end of one of the posts?
This is awesome! I have an 82' Pickup that my Dad gave me, that my dream is to restore, due to so many unfortunate events, it just keeps getting pushed further and further and back. But watching this gives me hope that someday I'll get to it. God Bless you all! This is so cool!
Robby, I worked in the auto body field for most of my career and there is nothing you do that I haven't done. Thanks for the memories. When I did that work I just got busy and did what had to be done. I always started with the hardest hit areas first or the hardest part, To my way of thinking, doing the hardest thing first meant that it just gets easier as you go.
Hillbilly keeps me watching. He is identical to every friend and relative I have. It’s amazing how well you treat the people around you. Very rare these days.
It's so good to hear that there is someone out there who breaks down jobs (like hoods) into smaller jobs! I always say it's easier to do the job when I can see the end of the tunnel, and that being the case; I'll make more, shorter tunnels!
You're not the only one to subdivide big tasks into smaller pieces in order to preserve your sanity. I've been doing that for decades, just to keep my stress level under control. Good luck to Hillbilly and his family on the Laymo trip (one of the most awesome vehicles ever built, in my opinion).
Glad to see Demris more on the other side of the camera She adds something to the mix for sure Glad she is getting less and less camera shy. Very cute. Your a lucky guy Robbie Also for a project recommendation. After watching the lamo in action. And granted it did way better than I thought being so long. I think you need to add rear steering to it. Thing would be ultimate
Okay, the pocket sized crescent wrenches have a history. I respect that. Then again - Knipex makes the wrench pliers in all sizes, down to 150 (6 inch) and 125 mm (5 inch)...
I totally understand your breaking things into squares 👍 I do it, even for washing the dishes. But for sure when I did a lot of drywall mudding the walls, and sanding a whole house is overwhelming. So I'd start with the mindset of one room at a time, and each wall was a square, started with the ceiling.👍
I call that style of project break down as the teaspoon method. You break it down into bite size pieces, so you can see you’re making progress on a big project and then it doesn’t feel so overwhelming.
I absolutely break up big panels into small sections, somehow it's much easier to think of then doing the whole panel at once. I don't think you're crazy robby 😅
I'm so pleased to see all you people getting along in this way. You're doing so many things for each other and with each other too. I like it! What I found that is missing is to see Dinner there doing what he did in the past. But I remember seeing him in one episode in just a week ago I believe, and without any explanation. How is he doing now?
I really like this channel and the Boss’s increased involvement in the videos has definitely added value! What has happened to Dinner? I may have missed a video were Dinner’s absence was disclosed. I know that he got a girlfriend and went on a trip or vacation with his girlfriend if I remember correctly and maybe got engaged. Please comment back to let me know where Dinner is.
Robby you and your family are special, your very caring people who care for their employees and others! I know Hillbillies worthy of what your doing for him, I just want to say thank you for all you do! All you guy's on RU-vid Matt's Off Road Recovery, Fab Rats, Merlins Old School Garage, the list is long, you all pay it forward! That's why I love watching your channels, and yes the great content helps! You guys make me laugh and put a big smile on my face!Til next time take care and we'll see you on the next...
I love your methodology Robbie, I tell my apprentices when they are facing a big job " you eat an elephant one bite at a time". Super videos. Good job.
Hey Robby here is a tip from years of experience. Wear well fitting gloves when sanding. It saves sanding all the skin off your fingers and also pads them from getting fatigued/sore!
I like the way you make achievable mini goals to help you not be overwhelmed. A strategy that should be taught to others. Perhaps they would then do as great of job as you do, in their realm of work.
If you lived were i do you don't leave key's in anything for a minute. Good practice to get into if you ask me. Funny that hillbilly watched you guy's drive away with the trekker 🤣🤣.
it's really great 👍 being able to work with people who help an employee out..and you robby and demeri, are great people helping hillbilly and your other employees 😀 👍 and a great feeling for hillbilly to be able to work for you and the knowledge hillbilly brings to your shop....it's wonderful seeing your children in the video's,, we need some more riddles to keep us on our toes. thanks for making great videos 📹 👍,and for caring about your employees....and the lamo is looking good too..
Demri does a much better impersonation of Robby than Robby. Also, I miss the jokes that Adlee (sp?) and Big Dinner used to do. Maybe the jokes could start back up with Adlee (sp?) and Hillbilly?
I saw way past the imposters effort ....I was thinking Robby was looking way too cute....lol A little something I learned when working with rubber hoses and tubing like that gas filler tube....dish soap...it helps make dried rubber more pliable and lubricates.
Yeah... I'm a little OCD too... and I have to break things into pieces so I don't feel overwhelmed and to get gratification on each section I finish!!!
I just KNEWED you were gonna give him the LAMO for the camping trip! PS I hope Tyler, aka Dinner is doing okay. I miss him on the channel. Seemed like a decent bloke.
My Wife and I flip homes and then rent them. It took me forever to teach her to do one room at a time. She would go through and tear out everything, then it becomes overwhelming with no end in sight and makes the other tradesmen mad. Everything needs to done in a sequence plumbing, electrical, drywall etc. for a smooth flow.
makes moving and dealing with demo debris more manageable that way too. like when I used to flip homes the first one I did was a big old house and I gutted everything at once and was filling a roll off dumpster and they had to keep coming to empty it so much there was massive ruts on the lawn from the truck coming in and out so much in such a short time.
17:30 Robby, I am told that it's part of being ADHD. I happen to know because I have diagnosed with it and my Doctor has said its a good way of coping with things that overwhelm and distract you. By the way, I am 59 so its not only kids anymore. It seems that you treat your employees really well, I applaud you for that. Not many employers treat employees that way these days. Not that you really need to told that you have a beautiful wife and family because you really do! Take good care of them, please. She is a one of a kind person with a great heart!
I would of thought the insulation is for sound deadening off the drumming, rattling, and general road noise from vibration. Good idea it works i did to my old army truck.
I always divided up big areas when I was sanding them too. When I had my restoration shop we re-did an orange '70 Charger. I had my son sand all the paint off the roof. First thing he did was sand a Stars and Bars shape on the roof and an "01" on each door.
