This song is about opioid addiction. It is also about how our government pumped in and pimped out a mass quantity of pain pills to the Appalachian region inflicting depression, despair, and death on the people of this area, my people, and my home.
There are forces seen and unseen that manipulate us and profit from our pain.
While we fiddle and fuss about politics and taking sides, our neighbors and family are struggling and this is not ok. It’s time to wake up to the reality that we have been cheated. It’s time to take back our lives. Love yourself. Love your neighbor.
