Don't trip ;-) a golden rule. Love the gang saw, I just picked up one myself to back up my bandmill anxious to get it up and running, thanks for the video.
Looks/is dangerous but you just have to respect the equipment. I started throwing cubs(firewood pieces) when I was 8-9 years old. I stood on packed snow and sawdust next to 30 inch saw blade catching the sawed off pieces of aspen. My dad, brother and I did that for 10 years without any accidents.
This is how a lot old sawmills operate. There is little guarding. You respect the machines and dont work tired, drunk, or stoned or you may get hurt. Don't know why this referred to as "hillbilly". This old mills are everywhere
That looks awesome, would be cool to own a little setup like that you can operate with just one man, i see you gotta bandmill too, probably an edger too if you have a little gangsaw, at the sawmill I work at we have what’s called a bowsaw and it’s a three blade edger and a six blade gangsaw in one machine and man that thing is a work out if the resaw sends a bunch of cants to run through it
Well it could be dangerous but so is walking across the street if you don't pay attention. Looks like you could really produce with that set up though.
Safety Sally in the comments saying OMG 😲 this is so dangerous. They probably don't think twice about driving to the drive thru and ordering a heart attack in a sack. 🤣
Nothing hillbilly about that you gotta know your shit to make one of those. Just ask essential craftsman he made one. I'd say though the lack of safety was hillbilly but right there what we watched is the last piece of America no OSHA involvement if you get hurt you get hurt. Just like thing were in the past.
