this news channel had/has a hard on for reporting on the bus situation there to the point where they had to pad out then-current reports with half of a previous report.
@@rmatt24 Honestly, with the amount of miles per day alot of buses go. Doubt Electric buses are the best pick right now. One Day yes. But, right now, not the best choice.
@@ChakatNightspark Unfortunately, my district will receive 23-25 Thomas Jouleys as part of the Federal Grant later this year and still haven't built charging stations yet.😞
@@rmatt24 Problem with that is, If it is just Local driving. It would be fine or should be fine. The Thomas Jouley buses only have a range up to 138 miles. Alot of Bus Drivers will do that easily in Morning and Afternoon pickups and dropoffs. But Might be doable for local areas. Depending on charging station could take anywhere from 3 to 24+ hours to Charge back up to its max range. When I took the Bus to Elementary School and Middle School. I had to be up and ready for the Bus that picked me up at 5am sharp. I was First one on bus in morning and last one off. I was the furthest one out at 50 miles. We didn't pick up the next kid until 6:10am and the Last Kid was around 7am. But easily total trip was 150+ miles. being that Bus Driver had to go Pick up the bus First then Drive from the bus depot to me. Then have to consider some Bus Drivers will Pickup Elementary kids first, then go back out and pick up Middle or High School kids extending the miles. So while Some Electric buses are ok for very short distances at this time. Longer Distance it just not the best Option for alot of Schools. Not until can get that Range up alot. I would have to say around 300+ mile range.
It depends on the individual vehicle, the mileage, the driver, and the kids on the route. Some buses are ancient at 7 years old, others are fine at 17 years old.
What the fuck 11 MILLION BUCKS?!!!!!!!!!! since when was a bus that expensive?!!!! HOW MUCH ARE TEHY BUYING?!! there ain't no way buses can cost that much. Unless you're literally buying them FROM the factory and their being maintained by said company.
@@coletterydman9496 no ic is way better and Thomas had a recalled for not enough patting in the seats from 2014/2020 and that's a safety concern and Thomas buses like to make the ride dangerous bye breaking down it's not as reliable as ic
Why do people still buy incandescent 8 way buses? They are so outdated, cost the same as LED's and are more visible. We need to move on from incandescent 8 ways and start making LED's standard.
