Except that confirmed connecting rooms doesn’t actually mean confirmed - it is subject to availability on check in. Twice in the last few months, we have been told when checking in that connecting rooms were not available despite having been confirmed through Hilton Honors in both cases, and additionally directly with the hotel in the second case.
