Got the upgrade with my membership status! I would advise you that check in at the hotel (4pm) is a little bit later than most properties in Waikiki, so plan accordingly! You can try for an early check in, but there may be a few plus lines will be a bit long. You can always store your luggage. I definitely agree with you on the Hilton being more affordable. I’d say a difference maker to choose Hilton over Sheraton is if you have elite status. It can be easily attained through credit cards these days, for example the AMEX Hilton Aspire which gives you top leve elite membership. When booked directly, you can earn a LOT of points towards your stay which eventually add ip over time and use for future stays at Hilton properties. Also a lot of perks and benefits such as dining credits, room upgrades, late checkout and more which basically offset those annual fees. At the Hilton Hawaiian Village, there are lots of towers as well where you can choose your rooms from and you could even choose them via the app. Location is also convenient as well.
