What an awesome memory! Thank you Ben for creating a great video of our trip to Playa del Carmen. Loved our room, and all the staff working at the resort. Food was just as amazing. A big thank you to Adam and Heidi, Country Collectors for doing their video of PDC. It's why I chose this area.
I stay here at least 4 times a year and always get a swim up suite. Pure paradise. They take very good care of me, especially on my birthday. I spent last Thanksgiving there and they threw a big fancy dinner on the infinity deck, with music and dancing. It was really nice.
I saw the different tags they would put on doors for people that return or if it was a special occasion. I definitely appreciated the attention to detail for the guests.
It's Adventures of a Traveling Don and Mom! Love it. I always love going on a family trip. This resort looks awesome. I was looking at this resort for a future trip and now I'm looking at the swim out room options. I would love that. Cool that they have the 5th Ave sushi spot. The taco restaurant looked good too. A very thorough overview - really enjoyed seeing this resort.
One correction on my part. The sushi joint is off 2nd Ave and Constitution. Lol that was the first night and I hadn't fully oriented myself properly. I mean 5th Ave is literally a small block down from there so I made the mistake. It was an awesome resort. Definitely get the swim up option.
@@AdventuresOfATravelingDon 2nd ave, 5th ave... basically the same ;) It's a great area there anyways. Felt pretty safe walking around in the evenings (maybe not too late though)
It's very lovely; I really appreciate it. Your knowledge of so many stunning locations is astounding, and I hope to one day visit as many of them as you have suggested.
Now that was a great insight into a lovely resort. Now you may not know but we are trying to loose weight, so showing lovely food is not on 😮 Thanks for sharing 🙏👍
My wife and I spent 9 nights in Oct. Incredible didn't want to go. You might hear about Seaweed. It was not a problem on the beach. Just a great experience overall.
Have fun and let me know how it goes. While you'll have everything you really need in the resort if you want to get out and about PDC I do have a video in the playlist showcasing some hidden gems around town. Also if you go to Cozumel for a day let me know how it is. The weather didn't allow for me to go the day I wanted to.
Wonderful and comprehensive tour! My husband and I visited a few years ago when it was still The Royal Playa del Carmen and had the most amazing time. For us, the service stood out above everything else. The food and atmosphere were top-notch, BUT every single person working there went above and beyond for us. And always with a smile. Did you find that to still be the case?
@Adventures Of A Traveling Don I don't know who owned it, but it was not the Hilton. I'm so glad to hear that it's still amazing service. We tipped well, naturally, but I've never been treated better than at that resort.
Great coverage especially on the food. Highly considering going here in December. I stayed at an All-Inclusive in Cancun and the food was Horrible; (a lower star obviously but was still a nice Hotel).
Yeah the food overall was pretty fantastic here. I would still recommend a couple meals to go out into the city itself. I've got a video on Playa as the town if you want to check that out. Got some hidden gems well worth a visit and not on the main strip.
I miss Mexico. I want to go back but we got two big international trips for next year, so be tough to squeeze it in. Looks like a great resort. I hear good things about this one.
It's always tough, making plans for one place knowing you are passing up another. I've had Japan on the docket for 3 years now and I've passed by it again and again because of Covid!!!
@@AdventuresOfATravelingDon lol, we had Japan on our list for Oct 2020, then well covid happened. Then we had a baby this year, but we are hoping to go next October.
The ones we had did. I suppose it would depend on the season for angles of sun but, our place got it until about 2 hours before sunset when the sun would be behind the building opposite us.
I wish! That'd be a lot easier lol. Nah, just this particular video. And really only the stay. Technically she used her points that she's saved since the pandemic started to get at least 3 of the 5 nights paid for free. I actually paid for both of our flights to Cancun as well as the bus ride to Playa and back to Cancun. Also all tips that went to the staff during this video I gave to them myself. Pretty much all my other videos have been self-funded. Oh she is a buymeacoffee.com member so I technically get 5$ a month from her.
The food is garbage at this resort. Cool that you can order anything to your room and that they will drop it off in the little cubby connected to your room. But don’t expect good food here, plus drinks are watered down. If you like getting wasted every day with mediocre food then this is the place for you. Also beach is overcrowded and has a seaweed problem part of the year
I picked the right time of year then. Because the resort wasn't full in mid November and I never had to fight for a spot. I will give you between the food I had across the rest of Mexico it's definitely not on the authentic level that you find outside the resort. I still found many of the spots, particularly the sit down restaurants were relatively good. It was actually the room service I had the first night we got there that was not so good. Saddest burger of my life 😭😂
