This environment needs winter tyres-not snow rated A/T tyres, but proper 'winter tyres', with snow chains front and back if needed. Winter tyres are made of a compound that works on only a maximum of 10°C, preferrably less than 0°C. So, they need to be swapped out for summer tyres (regular tyres, be it A/T, or H/T, or M/T, or R/T) when the winter is over. Unfortunately, winter tyres are difficult to find in India. Also, I think the Hilux made it because of its longer wheelbase combined with the weight and the physics of that, like that of a lorry; this is something that can be a disadvantage in other scenarios. I think a FWD-biased AWD system like the Suzuki AllGrip Select, found in the Suzuki Grand Vitara AWD or the Toyota Hyryder V Neodrive AWD with winter tyres would perform best here, one of the few secanrios where it may have an advantage over more hardcore offroad systems. The weight of the Hilux or the Gurkha vs. the Jimny means that the Jimny will not get bogged down as much as the former two, this is a major benefit. But the much lower payload capacity of the Jimny means there are use cases for which only the Hilux or the Gurkha can be used.

Bigger tyres reduce the torque at wheels. So having big tyres is not going to be advantageous at all terrains, especially when wheels are in contact with the ground like this.
They are the same vehicles. Except the Hilux suspension is even stiffer than fortuner to lug more weight than the fortuner. Also the wheelbase. Apart from that there's no difference at all.

Dinesh bai, if your vehicle was in 4L then Atrac would have been automatically turned off. I think Atrac works only in 4H. It was only due to torque and tyres that the vehicle pulled up.
Companies manufacturing 4WD vehicles should provide you the Vehicle for getting a genuine feedback over the Offroading capabilities of the vehicles. If "Force" considers the raised drawbacks in Gurkha and honestly qork on them, they can literally break the market of Thar at some point... Baaki, Hilux ka muqaabla nahi bc 😂
Thar struggles with cold start in extreme weather conditions but what about other mahindra diesel vehicles like scorpio n or xuv? Do they struggle too?
Change engine oil and gear oil which has -40 to -50 Celsius pour point. Check all glowplugs. Carry winter antigel and if you can't find one add 1-2 liter of petrol. You can start you car easily at -15 and if you have antigel than easy start even at small hatchback till -30. Your car will rin stress free. Not knocking sound.
Bhai defender ek accha offroader hai no doubt but reliable car nhi hai aur aisi situations jab car baar face karti hai to vaha reliability matter karti hai baaki defender monocoque chassic hai jo ki offroad community me itna jada pasand nhi kiya jata as compare to ladder on frame chassis. Offroading capabilty wise jeep wrangler rubicon jada better hai hilux hai but dono vehicles ka purpose alag hai hilux overlanding purpose k liye jada better hai aur rubicon offroading .
