Hey man, this song it's hard to perform, he couldn't sing well cause it almost was making him cry, i sang this song in emo night and it made me cry, cause the lyrics do hit hard.
The problem of him not being able to reach high notes may have to do with the cigarette, people who smoke don't have much breath and their voice starts to get scratchier.
