Almost I have seen all the himalayan 450 from all leading from day 1 till date. I can say your reviewer is the best among all. Very sensible, objective, in real terms and precise. Zero exaggeration and highly professional.
The chassis issue was solved by the BS6 411 rolled out. I haven't faced such issues even after dropping the bike multiple times on trails and I've done north of 30k kms.
Same, I'm riding the bs6 one for last two years and clocked 30k, had 2 major accident but nothing with the chassis. In bs4 it was still there for some of bikes but in bs6 they did it.
If Royal Enfield were to put the 650 motor into a Himalayan type chassis, you would end up with a much heavier bike than the Himalayan 450 for only a 7HP advantage over the Himalayan 450 - sure, if you want to only ride roads a Himalayan 650 may appeal, but once off road you only have to drop a Himalayan 650 once to make your wish you had given up the 7HP for the lower weight, although your chiropractor will always encourage you to go for a Himalayan 650...
Thank you for the review, the only advantage here in Oz is that the Himalayan won't be available till late January-February 24. so hopefully the issue of not knowing the reliability would have been sorted out by the northern hemisphere.
Room for improvement 1. Adjustable suspension and break lever 2. Cruse Control 3. Tubeless tyre (Coming soon) These updates make this bike perfect to make single bike in the garage.
Great video. You’ve covered all possible scenarios. The clincher was the ride in the bazaar with the sweets :). That pretty much convinced me to seriously consider this bike.
Already booked i loved my 411 but yeah why not few bhp more and seeing yours and abhinav reaction while riding the joyfull reaction to be honest i am really impatient now when i will get mine 😅😅😅
I am also an owner of Himalayan BS4 it is vibe free till 100-105...Many people who complain about vibrations is because they don't use good engine oil, if u stick to RE's shitty liquid gun oil...It will never be vibration free...Post 110 yes you start feeling vibration thats for sure...And yes the engine struggle to speed up from 110 onwards... So yeah this 450 for sure will be a huge upgrade..
Thank you very much for this nice Test Report from India about this beautiful Bike and Country 😊, I love the the style and sound of this Adventure Bike the mix between classic and tech. I just look for the next dealer to get some spirit of India. My next door dealer of the Royal Enfield is only 15 Miles away 😊. I wish you guy's always a good and safe ride.. best regards from Germany
Amazing review sir. I own a 390 adventure 2022 model. I just wanted to know how it compares to adventure in off road & highway performance. I think this is now a serious competitor as well as a threat to the dual sport Indian community.
19:51 bro u were just 600-700mtrs away from my home I really wanted to see the new himalyan never had any bike but I am in love with the new himalyan already man I missed a golden opportunity and now I have to wait to see it
Highway rides will definitely be fun on this. Pricing & weight will be deciding factor between this and 390x . Also ,tourers should wait for the tubeless spoked wheels i guess.
@@sakalasiva Tubeless spoke wheels .. Are stronger than alloys wheels, Donot get bent from string offroading impacts, worst case is a spoke may become loose which can be easily tightened. Alloys on the other hand can bend or break easily after a string impact in offroading.. And the air will leak and ride ends. All this scenario is applicable for riders who do proper and frequent off roading
@14:00, as a biker we should be on left most of the times unless you are taking a right ora U turn. So if you were not turning right or taking a U turn, you mind your own safety. I ride and drive both and try to always be on left when I ride and on right when I drive unless taking a turn. Keeps me safe
Very informative video man! People were spamming a lot of baseless claims in comments of different videos and you came like a mythbuster. Please let me know if I should go for this as my first bike.
what do you think about a travel, in 2 people, with panniers and rear box, is it possible? i mean at a regular speed, about 110/120kmh, you can do it? my doubts are about the weight, near 200kg (the bike) + the passenger + the load ... what do you think? Thank for your review very professional and friendly !
Any direct comparisons with the Scrambler 400X? In how they ride? I understand the 21” / spoke wheel differences etc of course for off roading but just in pure riding pleasure, peppiness etc while riding on road and also during mild off roading. Thanks
Hi lovely and practicality shot review....LOL I loved the vegetable and sweet buying part.... absolutely a must in our country 😂 keep up the good work ...I used to have an RX long back shifted to 4 wheels with a family .. .now in the second innings of life you and the Himalayan 450 really tempting me to get one... actually not a fan of RE at all but this 450 is something different at par with vehicles available in the MNC line ups....for the nit picker in me traction control band cruise control could have been the icing on the well done "choclate cake"
Chassis issues were solved by the time BS4's rolled out. I have a 2018, the first lot with ABS and the thought to upgrade was slowly creeping into my mind...looks like just 41 extra cc's would be enough! :)
Trust me it will be totally worth it. Its one of those machines where its very difficult to find faults .. the riding experience is addictive.. Thats how i would like to describe it.
Hey Small question. Hof did you menage to get your hands on the bike to review it. Cause that is very impressive that you managed to have access to the bike like that
this is very detailed...thanks! according to reports from owners...with the J series and the Super Meteor 650, RE have upped their game when it comes to quality and customer satisfaction...after sales service has also been superb...so, after watching your video one can safely plonk their money and book a Himalayan...zyada se zyada kya hoga, warranty mein cover ho jaayga...
Interested in this bike but Royal Enfield has a track record of using their first batch customers’ bikes as long term test bikes, so will wait and see when the owner reviews comes in.
Bro I have been following you in all the videos about himalyan 450 you just next level informative I have a doubt it’s not too technical But what do you which a better suspension between both 390SW the adjustment able suspension and the himalyan which do you this has a better suspension for touring with the comfort?
Your video has answered all my questions but one that is ...the meteor 350 is amazing in traffic and also great in highway what is your take on how it can beat the comfort of meteor 350.
Only word Himalayan remain same, its a new motercycle, not an upgrade, you can't compare There 3 4 lines and wording is always present in the review hope its not communicated by re that you have use these lines specifically
@@Twenty3Rides agree. But they should be part of accessories. So many people are buying ktm 390 adv. Adding Adjustable suspension and tubeless spoke rims cost on Himalayan ex showroom will still make it affordable as compared to ktm 390 adv top variant
How powerful are headlights? Are seats on variant/s coming with dual tone/dual colors more comfortable? Would certainly buy the top variant with tubeless. Hope black with gold rim is the top variant too. Can't wait for it to come to USA.
Not too shabby! There are 93.2082 miles per hour in 150 kilometers per hour. To convert KMH to MPH you need to divide KMH value by 1.6093. In our case to convert 150 KMH to MPH you need to: 150 / 1.6093 = 93.2082 mph As you can see the result will be 93.2082 MPH.
It’s sad to see the braking duties is served by a two piston calliper . Considering the power and momentum it generates , the braking hardware should have at least a 4 piston radial calliper . Outdated braking hardware . And the lack of a dedicated brake light is just not at all expected . And they could have given adjustable fork and mono shock (at least an option ) .
How does it compare to scrambler 400? Heard the triumph has significant vibrations after 110 Does this have shim type Valves like ktm or the simple screw type ones?
This bike is definitely a game changer in the Adv market. RE made a complete change and improvement in this bike except the name. Thanks for a wonderful review.❤
Hi, thank you for a lovely informative review. Can you pl let me know what is the top speed of this bike? Can we continuously cruise at 140kmph on open highways? Pl let me know. Thank you
Lets be practical.. Nobody cruises at 140kmph for more than 10-15 seconds max.. Indian rods dont allow that.. and most expressways dont allow bikes.. To answer : it can cruise 120-130 .. After that you wouldnt feel very comfortable..
The spedo display is giving problem now itself what will happen in the Rains. RE should have tried this display under All weather conditions for atleast 12 months till then should have used the tried and tested Analog Speedo
Great Video! Thank you ! Would you help me ? I am considering to get a Tiger 900, usually ride with pillion. How would the Himalayan 450 go With a pillion passeger? Plus luggage
@@Twenty3Rides Thank you! I do have the budget, however I am want to be " money wise " to use the bike for daily commute and travel ( 10k km in 20 days) . Ps: your videos are Great
I would say YES. The bike has an "econo" mode that somewhat deadens the throttle to be less responsive. That would be a wonderful feature for a new rider. I say this because as new riders gain experience, confidence comes along with it. Most of the time the new rider is "ready" for more power after they have ridden the bike for some time. It is a win win situation because you don't have to buy a bigger bike with more power. You can just take it out of the econo mode. Cheers an Happy Motorcycling!
Can this ride in 40 kmph in six gear like scram 400x.....since the engine also act as stressed member can durability be an issue .....id there any issue which could ruin the biking experience
hey that was really interesting. I am in the same position right now owning a 2023 interceptor 650 but also booked the kamet white himalayan. My issues were with the seat, suspension and the low pillion taking capabilitiies. Please do let me know if this would a wise decision to make this switch. Also I dont want to compromise too much on the less power.
KTM is not the kind of bike on which we need an exhaust to be entertained. Leaving that aside, new Himalayan will be an excellent rival for the KTM 390 and BMW gs310 Advs. it will be eating into KTM sales for sure and exhaust sound will not be the reason for that. Good job RE.
I saw a bunch of videos about the new Himalayan, but no one said about the size. Guys, is it a small motorcycle or not? I'm not talking here about engine size, but frame size. Any good for tall riders, or is it one more model like the KTM 390 Adventure which is clearly made for the Asian market?
This should be just perfect for 6feet frame.. I am 180cm and i feel near perfect.. Better than the adv 390 which has a screwed up riding geometry with rear set footpegs..
What company do with their test vehicles, I mean there are lots of Media rider testing the bikes. What happens to these bikes later once company get back from reviewers. Do they refurbish and sell it to the customer ?
On Road - No.. 390 is faster on road. Overall it might be better than 390 adv for folks with a touring mindset.. who like to ride and soak in views.. And not be hurried by the urge to change gears and throttle hard.. Mind you Himalayan is not slow but offers a ride experience for folks who have a matured mindset.
@@Twenty3Rides thankyou, so relativly it would fair much better offroad.. than the ktm.. especcially in those loose patches whuch would demand clutch play, yes?
I’m from Bangalore and i want to start from here to Leh Ladakh , so my question is if I wait n buy rally edition will I have a option for adding topbox n panniers as I need to carry more luggage from here. As I seen from the leaked images of rally edition n it’s accessory list I can add only small saddle bags n small top bag which is not enough to carry for touring compared to normal touring Himalayan 450.
I would say buy the normal version and then make it Rally based on your requirements.. 😁. If you ate into Touring focus on getting all possible option that support luggage.
@@Twenty3Rides Thank u for the response ! So, in near future will there be after market option to convert my tourer to rally with all my requirements right. Also, just out of curiosity what about launch of tubeless rims will it be in very shortly ? and what will be the approx cost RE might offer as part of accessory ?
