The Sega Real Model series had mostly featured Evangelion figurines before in 1997, it broke out of that shell for Series 18 and 19, Utena and Anthy respectively. These figures...let's be honest, would not pass muster by modern demanding figurine standards, and were aimed at a younger audience. Released by SEGA Enterprises, sculpted apparently by Nakao Yoshimasa, they sold for ¥2,480 each, and came each with a unique short omake CD. Especially for fans of Kawakami's absolutely eternal performance as Utena, these are a neat little lost gem I'm happy to be bringing to you now, thanks SO SO much to the fantastic work of our resident translation angel, Nagumo.
Because audio alone with just text is, well, not that fun, I did something a bit different, using the ripped assets of the Utena game to make a kind of 'scene' for the audio. I hope you like it!! Yes, I also did Utena's CD: • Tenjou Utena Sega REAL...
Thanks again to Nagumo ( / nagumo191 ) for translating, jeff ( / heyboots ) for providing the game assets, and Yasha ( / yashaohtori ) for doing QC and advising. The script was lightly edited and worked into this video by Giovanna for Empty Movement ( / ohtori_nu , ohtori.nu/.) If you'd like to support Empty Movement, we do have a Patreon ( / empty_movement ) that helps us maintain the absolutely enormous repository of Utena content that we run, as well as helps us offsets the costs of bringing new content to you! And trust me, there's always new (sometimes, like this, super old new) content!!!
