The winner of the OM5 is Gary H. Thanks everyone who entered, and I’m so sorry a scammer tried to steal your money! I will do giveaways differently in the future to prevent these cowards from slithering into the comments!
someone sent me a email with your youtube emblem and said i won but i had to pay for customs charges, or 75 dollars and they will send it private ,scam so everyone beware .
That pass-through design would be a huge deciding factor for me. At 50 with knees that have taken a beating over the years, pass through should be much easier to mount the bike, and having something that would take me back to those glory days of a kid riding a bike with pedal assist!! Now I need one!
I am here for HOW you review tech not necessarily WHAT you’re reviewing. You have an excellent way of reviewing tech and I look forward to future tech reviews!
Just purchased an E bike I’m 78 love to ride it it’s nice to have a little bit of assistance you get going up hills. I know I’ll ride more with this bike. I’m glad you’re branching out and reviewing other things. Anything you do is all right with me. It’s such a coincidence you reviewed an E bike just after I purchased one.
Russ, I think we all love that you do straight forward honest reviews on all tech products you try out. I thought the video was well constructed and edited. I know you couldn't review other e-bikes that you don't have but it would be nice to know how it stacks up against other e-bikes. I'm sure there has to e some comparative data out there somewhere. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have lots of fun chasing yourself with active track.
I really like your channel. You are very straight forward, down to earth with no BS. Thank you. My wife and I are thinking about getting e-bikes. We have ridden road and Mtn bikes for years but as we’re in our 70’s we can’t go every where we would like to go. I really appreciate your honest review of this bike. It has a lot of features which I really like, definitely under consideration. I have a DJI Mavic Air 2 and it would be so much fun to have videos of us on our new bikes on a new adventure
Being a great grandfather who loves Tech this was quite interesting for me being handicapped I'm tired of my little 3 wheel scooter that doesn't even get 4 miles an hour. Thanks for the review. But drones are still my first love!
Thanks, Russ. I have been using a RAD Rhino e-Bike as my commute every day for the last couple of years, 5 miles there and 5 miles back. I am lucky that most of the ride is along a cycle path that runs by a river here on the Isle of Wight in the UK. What a great lifestyle change it has been. I recommend everyone to try it out.
Review videos are a dime a dozen usually but when they come from channels that normally do not review it holds more weight, at least with me. I have been following you for a while now and your videos are just down to earth so that makes the reviews more genuine. This one was perfect because I too am just starting to look for an ebike and I watched a review of one that Ken Heron got and now yours. It is interesting to see the pros and cons and to see it put to the test in the environments that we will all most likely be in ourselves. I like how you will review the products that you want to use for yourself and not just reviewing to review. Keep it up. I love the content.
I have seen this bike used by one of my favorite you tube channel - switch it up - they are full time RVers. They highly recommend this bike. I am glad you did this video. It was interesting to see you review something so different. Thanks
Russ, It was an outstanding review and I don’t believe it was out of your lane at all. Most RU-vid drone content creators test the active track in new drones and this is an outstanding tool to do that with. Your buddy Aldryn (FlytPath)walks a good distance from his vehicle as well when getting good drone footage. This would definitely help him skip a long walk if he wanted to. Good job Russ. Keep it up!
Thanks for the review. Wife and myself are boondock campers and this is something we've been looking at. Love that you gave it a proper test of battery life and off-road capability.. thank you
The manor in which you review anything is great and I would watch your videos no matter what you review. You have a great speaking voice and your honest opinion is valued. I have also been looking at E-bikes but this one is a little expensive.
Appreciate the e-bike review, your "cons & pros" style lends itself well to people who are actually thinking of getting these items...if only some manufacturers would send you more makes/models to review! Drones, e-bikes, whatever tech your opinions are really helpful...
@@Glenrsi A scammer is posing as me and getting peoples info. I Do Not use WhatsApp!!! I have deleted hundreds, but they just keep coming! I have reached out to RU-vid to help
I rely on 3 or 4 sites for drone info. ( I have the DJI Mavic Air 2.) Yours is at the top, and I loved the review of the Himiway Escape Moped. I don't need the gift so if I get picked, pass that on to someone who could use it. Thanks for the info you pass on - you were a big help in making my selection of a drone.
Russ, I appreciate your openness about why you stepped out of the drone world for this review. I also think you did a creditable job with the review. Now I'm looking forward to seeing you on the bike with the drone following you through the world. Will be interesting to see how cold weather impacts the performance. I expect that there is no battery warming system. Good luck and keep up the great work.
Thanks Russ! I got the radmini it folds in half! I am glad you are reviewing other tech you are interested in and will watch those videos as well. Ebikes are awesome I love the longer rides you can get with them before you are worn out.
Russ your style of tech presentation is spot on. I never feel like you are biased, always presenting the positive and negatives. On the issue of needing more e-bike comparisons, your review is a perfect plan for us to use in reviewing other e-bikes on our own. Renting e-bikes is easy and not that expensive. The best part of renting to review is that in today’s world rental locations are usually close to trails and terrain that you want to test on. I would suggest any first time purchaser of an e-bike rent and try before you buy. Even if you cannot rent the exact brand or model you want your experience will make you a smarter consumer. Thanks for all of your great videos. Cheers
I went camping this past weekend and I saw an increased number of these e-bikes being used. Thanks for the review as I might be purchasing one for next year.
Awesome!! I just bought an bike this summer too!! I’ve driven it 1400 km since July. You’re right they are a lot of fun! My brother and I each bought the Addmotor M-66 R7. Similar specs to yours except a little longer range. We drove them 50km without peddling and one day we drove them 60 km (38 miles) with some peddling and still had 2 out of 5 bars of power left over. These things are a lot of fun. We also get a lot of people asking about them.
I just bought 2 Lectric ebikes myself. I've been watching a lot of stuff about ebikes so your review came in handy. That bike is very similar to the Lectric ebike in a lot of ways. Thanks for the review!
Hi Russ, I like that you did a review on an ebike. It was cool seeing what other ebike reviewers are calling the ebike grin. I purchased an ebike last summer and grinned from ear to ear for the first week of riding. Glad you're enjoying yourself. "What a kick" looking forward to your tracking videos!!
Great video! I recently visited Alaska and rode an e-bike. We had an absolute blast riding the trails that goes around the airport along the coast. It was my first e-bike ride. Now I have a much better understanding of the mechanics of the e-bike. Nice video Russ! 👊
I have actually been looking for an ebike for a while for college. I really like how well this bike looks like it works. It also looks like you have a little bit of storage which can be nice for getting groceries.
I have recently started researching e- bikes and this video was perfect for helping me make my decision. Thanks for branching out and doing something different.
Nice review Russ. I’m thinking of buying an RV and taking my drone fleet around the country to capture images. An e-bike is part of my thinking. I appreciate your RU-vid content. The e-bike review was timely. All the best. Jeff
I'm doing that exact thing. Our ebikes are loaded on the back of our Honda CRV, and we flat tow the CRV behind the motorhome. It has worked out great. I can find some of the most remote areas, driving to where the motorhome can't go, then biking further into the wild to fly my drone.
I got me and the wife the Radmini 4 folding bikes. They are nice, and a blast!! They also fold so we put them in a big tub and they both slide right in the back of my Ford Explorer. Only takes a few minutes to slide out and unfold anywhere we want to ride. Plus I like the fact they are locked up in the car when we aren't around and not hanging off the trailer hitch. P.S. I've watched all of your DJI and others vids and it's really nice how you lay them out. It makes it really easy to understand and learn something. They are also very, very thorough. Awesome job!!🖖
Love the fact that you don't ramble on as others do. You get straight to the point and give an honest review and keep it interesting. Keep up the fantastic work you do.
C'mon Russ, you don't have to bribe us, but it is nice. I have always enjoyed your way of presenting an item and who don't love new tech, I mean really. I' going to go with, I like the integrity that you put into every video you produce. Of course your question is loaded as there are so many aspects one could hit on, camera angles, other channel representation, character, ect. When it comes to that bike, I like the tires.
I also have an electric bike (RAD Mission) and it is absolutely fun and practical at the same time. I don't mind that you review just drone stuff. Love your reviews!
I actually enjoyed your review of that e-bike, I believe that you have nailed it! I’m also getting up in my years, so I have been considering getting an e-bike to use when filming the woods and also to use when hunting. I don’t like the bikes with the tall tires though…so this bike that you reviewed would be perfect for me and my likes! Thank you for the informative review on this one, I certainly would like to see you do more reviews on other tech goodies as well as drones. Have a wonderful day and thank you for another fun and interesting video! God bless you my brother! Sincerely, Donnie Miller
What a surprise. Trying to get a golf cart and like everything else, they are back ordered. So I was also checking out electric bikes. Perfect timing and well done on the review.
That definitely looks like a blast to ride. And I liked how you put your drone in the basket in the back LOL. Got to have your priorities straight hahaha
Hey Russ, Pat here from Toronto. I think your review of the e-bike was great. If you had a dealership, I’d come down for a look. It must be hard for you to put out new content on a regular basis for drones only. This was new and interesting for you and me. I believe I noticed you stepping a bit higher this morning. Also noticed you wearing a heavy coat, fall has come here to southern Ontario too. Keep yer videos comin’.
Man Russ that is cool. I been following you for a wile now. Your the one who I found the tips on how to fly my DJI Mav pro. Thanks for all the videos. Most of all thanks for letting us be a small part of the fam. God Bless. Ps made this comment before the end. Would love to see a lot more of the review videos.
Thanks for the great review Russ! I like how you are reviewing other products in addition to your drone reviews. I've had my eye on the Himiway bike for a while now and was happy to see an unbiased review from a channel I already subscribe to!
I like the bike review. I’ve been looking at them myself. I also appreciate that it was an honest review and you took time to point out the good…but most importantly the bad. Nice job!
I have been looking at E-bikes for my wife and I. So I am interested in any E-bike reviews. You reviewing this bike makes it kind of a one stop location for Tech things I am interested in.
@@51Drones I have been looking for somthing that we could ride along the beach, seawall (Galveston, TX) and park trails. We like to film and photograph these types of areas to share with the grand kids. I am 60 and my wife is 50 so this type of bike may be what we are looing for. Maybe you coud do a short review on how this bike handles paved trails or sidewalks.
5:17 Russ, you mentioned a link to a video you learned from. I'm not sure I see that link in the description currently. Very honest review. This actually fits in with your channel since you can chase it with your drone. I like tech reviews too. Thanks, Russ.
Great honest review as always and I definitely think you should continue to review products, directly drone related or otherwise. As a taller person at 6'3", I'm really surprised that they are limiting the market reach of the bike by having a non-adjustable seat but as this looks more like a moped than a traditional bike maybe that form factor limits adjustability. I noticed on their website that they have do have other e-bike models that are more like mountain bikes with adjustable seat height.
Nice review. I'm an avid ebike rider. I use mine to find secluded drone flight areas, away from everybody. You didn't mention the Himiway rear suspension, which is rare to find on ebikes under $2K. Nice feature. Too bad about the fixed seat. It appears to have cable operated disc brakes. If they were hydraulic brakes with an adjustable seat, it would be a winner.
Hi, Russ! 1. I have no problem with you reviewing tech things that are not drones. This one in particular was not that far afield from the subject of drones. Nobody should have any problems with your reviewing such - this was certainly tangential to your main subject material of drones. But it any case - hey! It's YOUR channel! 2. I like the bike. I think the review itself was thorough and pretty objective. 3. The idea of possibly winning the OM5 sounds real good. I've always liked the idea of getting the most of the capabilities of the cameras in our phones! 4. Keep up the good work!
Hi Joelster I'm thinking of getting this bike but I wonder if I'm to old to handle it. I'm 76, also how high is the seat from the ground as I just want to sit down without hopping up? I'm 5'8".
@@larrylee7188 Hi Larry, Im about the same height and it is very easy to get into the bike, I just uploaded a video with a true range and some issues I have encountered about the bike, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1P8nOtmpKIA.html
Being in the market for an E-Bike myself , I found this very helpful, We all love gadgets and tech so reviewing stuff like this is always great to watch , Thanks Russ :)
Been thinking of some kind of electric ride for the fun of it. One wheel, long boards and even e-bike thank you for doing this review it will be something to think about.
Thank you for going out of the comfort zone of your channel and giving us another great review. I was just looking into a E-bike just days ago. This is one that I am going to look into more. Thanks again for this review, great to have real people that own what they have purchased give their opinion with out looking like a TV commercial.
I’m new to all this drone stuff and I’ve watched a lot of your videos and learned a lot. I’m even thinking about getting my 107. Also your off beat videos keep it interesting… thanks.
Great review Russ. A nice new addition to your vloging kit. I'm sure it will come in handy in many ways not only with the drones but with your 360 camera as well. enjoy and keep up the great content.
Good review, thanks. I'm a tall guy so the seat would be the issue in as much it doesn't adjust. That would stop me from looking more seriously as a possible option to buy. I would say go for it with the review of other tech stuff. Your reviews are always clear and relevant and appreciated.
Pretty good review man, these types of bikes have always interested me, but I was always concerned about them really needing to be on pavement to get any real use out of it. Glad to see that's not true, this bike looks very interesting!
Great review, it really is somewhat drone related, I mean you got some drone footage in there. I’d say keep it up, good job. As far as being out of your element, I though you did fine. You might want to include more info on your research of other e-bikes, some technical comparisons which you can do from literature. It looks fun, you got me wanting one!
One of the channels that helped me get into the drones and help with things I need to learn. The e bike looks amazing and would be perfect for around town.
Russ, you made an altogether good review of this bike. I have another model entirely but you answered plenty of the queries I'd have had if talking to you about it. So my input is - DONT stick to NOT doing more like this. You're good at it. Do more, please?
Hi Russ, it's great that you don't report exclusively on drones. Therefore, I would be happy to see more videos on tech topics. - The eBike is really great. But since the seat height cannot be adjusted, I will not order it. But let's see if the next model might fit. Kind regards, Sven
The Himiway Big Dog seems to be a better fit to your needs. Adjustable seat; larger battery. Similar design. Like any battery powered device, the voltage and ability of the battery to put out power degrades as the battery pack depletes. The solution is to go with a bigger battery pack, and sort of - to a degree - not to deplete your battery down to 0%.. Ideally, you'd charge your battery pack to 90% and deplete it down to only 15 to 20% . Mind you, not depleting the packs completely is not about performance insomuch as life of the pack. The other alternative would be to go with a folding fat tire ebike. There are a few that are step thru designs; but often come with a smaller battery and shorter range; but the folding design allows one to carry the bike within a vehicle more easily. I've seen a few on Amazon that have similar battery sizes to the Escape, at about the same price. With any e-bike, one should "over-size" the pack for a bit more than what you anticipate, but more importantly, be sure to choose one that has branded batteries in it, like LG or Samsung cells. Been considering a few of the AddMotor brands, and the FUCARE brands.
Thanks for the review Russ! I never thought of a E-Bike before but your thoughts on it was enough to make me think seriously about it. I think you should continue with the reviews of "all things electric"!
