One of the sports stories of the year. What a putt on 18. Her demeanor.. her smile.. I have never seen anyone enjoy playing golf that much. Add in the fact it's her first major, first LPGA event, first time being outside of Asia and the fact her manager DRESSED UP IN A BLUE COSTUME TO MAKE HER LAUGH ON THE COURSE... I mean, this might go down as one of the greatest stories of all time. And that smile!!! Congratulations Hinako Shibuno!!! Aka the Smiling Cinderella!!!

I loved it most that Ashleigh spontaneously raised her arms in unison with the crowd to celebrate that magical winning putt. A reflex response both awfully sporting and gracious, it shall forever remain as the most telling testament of how Hinako won the hearts and love of the whole world, spectators and fellow competitors alike, with her endearing demeanour and spectacular golf. Hoping only to make the cut, Hinako ended up scything the field to win in the most absorbing final round ever in the WBO. The manner of the victory more than made up for my disappointment at my favourite, Ko Jin-young, just missing out on the treble. A pity that we may not get to see that fetching smile more often. While it lasted it truly has been a marvelous Cinderella tale that leaves old codgers like me blessing life; grateful for having witnessed some of the heartwarming and miraculous feats it served. Well done Hinako Shibuno and thank you for achieving what you did with such elan and humility. 👍👏👏👏🌹💋💋💋
The winning put from Hinako was a fitting end to an enthralling final round and a hugely successful AIGWBO. The LPGA and LET will be deliriously happy that this delightful young woman emerged in their premier tournament and is sure to inspire a new generation of happy girl golfers. Hinako is one special player. Congratulations also to JoKo who nearly made an historic 3rd major in a season win. The strength of this field and the birdies they all scored trying to win must make this major one of the most exciting ever seen. 👏👏👏💪💪💪🏌️♀️🐬
