Hey mate - try tying uni knots as they’re much stronger than blood knots. Blood knots slip with modern lines. Test it out between a 20lb and you will see that bloods slip as they leave a pig tail on the end of the line. Just something which has helped me catch more fish
Gday Liam, have fished the other side of Haycock on the flats a few times, mainly chasing salmon and Barra. Was this video from the top of the tide into the start of the runout?
@@LiamFitzpatrick cheers mate, I stay at Lucinda Lodge each time too, bloody love it there. I usually manage to head down from Cairns about 4 times a year for 4 days per trip. Always discovering little tweaks depending on the time of year to chase fish. Top place hey.
You’ll find they’re huge gt’s and cod, not sharks taking the fingermark.. fished it many times and that’s what they are.. that’s why they aren’t cut clean in half. Have caught some monster GT’s there
Yeah same here over the years. Also had plenty of fish there with neat semi circles cut out of em. Definitely a few sharks all throughout the channel these days mate.
Weather was against us this trip so no middle of the ocean. Structure and current attract fish, the shore and this current creat eddy’s which are areas fish like to hold in.
I go up to hinchinbrook all the time and head straight out from the marina but I’ve never seen this spot is it down closer to Lucinda or don’t worry if it’s a secret spot??
@@LiamFitzpatrick during the autumn and winter period mate. You'll get the best wether out. It blows eastly winds. And bugger all knots. That would be the more better time for you to come up.
Depends what you wanna chase. Different species fire up in different areas at different times of the year. Some species have a closed season so that determines a bit of your opinions and times.
Shit mate you drop as many fish as i do! Dropped my PB snapper at the Yak a couple of days ago, you probably heard me all the way up on the hinchinbrook
