Videos such as these are a god send before you test ride any motorcycle. My heated seat was on and I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how to turn it off when I took it out to test. I had a very limited time with the bike and I chose to see how it behaves and how comfortable it is instead of figuring out what all the buttons do. But I liked it, ordered the GSA and have been riding it ever since 💪
Always nice to watch your vids, and thanks for taking the time to do them keep um coming Happy new year and it on the stops👍 PS ya bike could do of a clean 🤣
@@gsd32i hi again not sure if you have had this issue but since having the update on my bike ive now noticed my heated seats are not working, my front seat barely gets warm on setting 5 and the rear seat doesn't get warm on 1 or 2 setting even after 15 mins of riding, it shows on the dash has if they are turned on, also check your exhaust flap I had the warning come on which bmw assist said its the exhaust flap has seized even though the warning has now gone off im just waiting for a repair on 11/10/23 ill let you know how I get on
Great video as usual. Just ordered my 1250 GSA (triple black) a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, no heated seats available at this time for some strange reason. I added all the bells and whistles, including the 719 x 2 and black boxes. Living on yours and others videos on the GSA until it arrives, probably in August or September. Patience is a virtue they say. Heated seats would be nice, but not really necessary for me since I live in Texas. Will continued to call occasionally to see if the heated seats are available. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for the great videos.
Thanks, more videos out soon , as have been busy at work flying around Europe in my airbus. Off to France to explore the Normandy Landing beaches in 1 week with the GS, subject to the French not being on strike 😁
You are correct, heated seats can’t be retrofitted. I just paid for a bike and ended up getting the 719 option I didn’t plan on getting just because it was the one with the heated seats.
For people in the comments are you sure? From my experience with cars if they dont come with a feature usually they will have the wire tucked away somewhere like a blank dummy wrapped in electrical tape. As far as showing up in the software, I purchase a 2019 K1600GA without the floor lighting. When i got the bike i found the wire tucked away with a blank cap. I ordered the light part and it didnt work I went to BMW and they turned it on for me in the software during my first free service. So with the heated seat option why on earth would they have 2 different wiring harness at the factory floor? They should only have 1 and they wrap up the heated connectors away. Furthermore if they didn't have the wires. You can just order the heated wiring harness on there site and retrofit it on and go to the dealership to activate it on the display screen . Like i said i seen this in cars and my 2019 BMW K1600GA. Just my theory i will know more once i pick up my used 2022 and take it apart. In the next month
You are right about retro fitting the seats but you cant select the heated seat at present due to some shortage of something???? Mine arrived 2 days ago so these vids are a great help 👍
Yes I believe BMW have supply issues and even then headlights are coming down with non led bulbs and they are providing a voucher to get the new led unit when it becomes available if the customer wants it .
My settings on my 2023 GSA are different. I didn't get the heated seats. But, my heated grips have settings - off, level 2, level 1. No 5 levels of adjustment.
I got my GSA this week. No heated seats though. I've never had an issue with a cold ass when riding a bike. ;-) But, I do love heated grips. I think, for me, I'm more a level 3 heat on the grips. Great video. I've spent the last few days adding bits to my bike. Must do a video of those bits soon.
@@gsd32i well, thanks to some of your videos, I stripped off the back today and added the Daneli T3 rear pods. Harder to take off all the back bits than I expected, but easier to add the lights and run the cables than expected. I was gonna do a video, but then just ended up doing the work without filming. Very very happy with the results. If I ever get out your way, I'll buy you a pint for the help your videos have been.
@@gsd32i I had an 800 GSA for 7 years, before this bike. I normally just add what I want at the start, and do little else after. Thankfully. I won't list what I added, but it's about 15 bits, so far, and I've a few bits left to add. All bought before I even got the bike.
This video should've been 30 seconds. If you need 15 minutes of explanation how the simple heated grips or seats function works, either you have a problem or BMW made a non user friendly system.
